Display: larger viewing area or a more compact phone?
Moto G96 5G
Motorola promotes the G96’s 144Hz curved pOLED screen. A secondary comparison lists its size as 6.67 inches; the detailed Motorola specification table was not available in the product information reviewed here, so treat that size as secondary-source reporting rather than a manufacturer-verified figure. The higher stated refresh rate and larger reported panel make the Moto the direction to consider if screen area and smooth scrolling matter most.

vivo X300 FE

Performance and software: different hardware tiers
The official vivo specification page lists the X300 FE with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, Android 16, and OriginOS 6. A secondary comparison identifies the Moto G96’s processor as Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and its software as Android 15. The source quality differs, and software versions can vary by region or change with updates; check the exact India handset and its current software before buying.

Moto G96 5G
A secondary comparison reports a 50MP main camera, an 8MP wide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera for the G96. The exact sensor details and camera performance are not independently verified here, so megapixel counts alone should not be read as a photo-quality verdict.

vivo X300 FE
vivo lists a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP OIS telephoto camera, an 8MP wide camera, and a 50MP autofocus front camera. The dedicated stabilized telephoto camera is the clearest hardware distinction for people who want framing options beyond the main and wide cameras; the higher listed selfie resolution may also appeal to frequent selfie shooters. Actual image quality still depends on processing and shooting conditions, and these specifications are not camera-test results.
For camera-first buyers, vivo also announced the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 at ₹15,999 in India. vivo describes it as a 200mm-equivalent accessory for photo, video, and stage modes. Battery and charging: compare stated capacity, not endurance claims
The X300 FE specification lists a 6,500mAh typical battery capacity and a 6,350mAh minimum/rated capacity. vivo lists 90W wired FlashCharge, with maximum charging dependent on the original charger and cable; usage conditions can also affect charging. A secondary comparison reports a 5,500mAh battery for the Moto G96, but a detailed manufacturer specification table was not available to verify that figure here. Capacity figures alone do not predict how long either phone lasts in a particular person’s use.

Storage: the listed configurations are not alike
Motorola’s current family listing shows 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations for the G96. vivo lists the X300 FE in 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB configurations. Choose by the actual variant sold in your region rather than assuming every configuration is in stock; the cited listings establish these configurations, not ongoing retailer inventory.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Moto G96 5G if the much lower listed price and a larger reported screen matter more than flagship-tier listed hardware, and its listed 8GB configurations suit your storage needs.
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if you want a compact 6.31-inch phone and prioritize its listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, dedicated 50MP OIS telephoto camera, 50MP autofocus selfie camera, and larger stated battery capacity enough to justify a much higher price.
- Decide based on camera reach if telephoto photography is a priority: vivo lists a dedicated telephoto camera and offers a separately priced extender, while the Moto camera setup reported here does not include a telephoto lens.
This is a comparison of listed prices and specifications, not a tested performance or camera verdict.
