The Moto G96 5G prioritizes a sharper, higher-refresh pOLED display and an 8GB RAM configuration; the OnePlus N6 5G puts more emphasis on battery capacity, faster charging and expandable storage. Neither has a confirmed like-for-like current price in the available comparison, so treat the dated prices below as snapshots rather than a live buying verdict.

At a glance: Moto G96 5G vs OnePlus N6 5G

These are manufacturer-listed specifications: Motorola’s Moto G96 5G specifications and OnePlus’s OnePlus N6 product page. The comparison does not establish which phone is faster in real use or which takes better photos.

Which display is better on paper?

The Moto G96 5G has the more fully specified display: Motorola lists a 6.67-inch pOLED panel at 2400 × 1080 and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. OnePlus lists a 120Hz display for the N6. A higher refresh-rate ceiling can allow smoother motion in supported content, but it does not by itself establish brightness, color accuracy, or overall viewing quality. The cited OnePlus page does not provide the panel type or resolution needed for a fuller display comparison.

How do their processors and memory configurations compare?

Motorola pairs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. OnePlus lists a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex processor with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The published specifications show different chipsets and memory options, but they are not benchmark results; they do not prove which phone will perform better in a particular game, app, or multitasking workload.

For a buyer who wants 8GB RAM as a listed configuration, the Moto is the straightforward choice between these models. The N6’s lower-RAM configurations may still suit lighter use, but the available specifications alone cannot quantify the difference in day-to-day responsiveness.

Which phone has the bigger battery and faster charging?

The OnePlus N6 has the larger stated battery: 8,000mAh typical capacity and 7,780mAh rated capacity, compared with 5,500mAh on the Moto G96. OnePlus also lists 45W SuperVOOC charging, while Motorola specifies 33W TurboPower. These figures describe capacity and charging specifications, not measured screen-on time or a guaranteed charge time.

OnePlus says the N6 provides “8000mAh for 3 days² of power with 7-year battery health.” That is a OnePlus India claim, not an independent test result. Its launch page attributes endurance data to OnePlus Test Lab and cautions that actual results vary by use. Read the OnePlus N6 launch information with that qualification in mind.

What about storage and cameras?

Storage flexibility

The Moto G96 is listed with 128GB or 256GB of built-in storage and no expansion. OnePlus lists up to 128GB built-in storage and support for expansion up to 2TB. If you keep a large offline media library, the N6’s card expansion is a practical distinction; if you want more built-in capacity, check which Moto storage variant is actually available before buying.

Camera details

OnePlus specifies a 50MP main camera and an 8MP front camera. The cited Motorola specification information used here does not establish comparable camera details, so megapixel counts cannot support a fair camera verdict between the two. They also cannot establish image quality on their own.

How do their software and durability claims differ?

Motorola lists Android 15 for the G96, while OnePlus lists OxygenOS 16 for the N6. Those are the software versions specified on the cited India product pages; the available information here does not establish an equivalent update-support period for both phones.

The Moto carries an IP68 rating; the N6 is listed as IP65 and also has MIL-STD-810H certification. These are different manufacturer-stated protection and certification details, not a single overall durability score. They should not be treated as permission to expose either phone to water or harsh conditions beyond the manufacturers’ care guidance.

Separately, OnePlus India’s offer terms gave customer MTV prices of ₹21,249 for the N6 4GB/128GB and ₹22,949 for the N6 6GB/128GB during September 1–30, 2026. That offer period has ended, and those historical N6 figures have no matching Moto price from the same period, so they are not a current or like-for-like comparison. Check current seller listings for the exact storage and RAM version you intend to buy.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose the Moto G96 5G if you want its stated 144Hz pOLED display, an 8GB RAM configuration, 256GB built-in storage as an option, or its IP68 rating.
  • Consider the OnePlus N6 5G if a larger stated battery, 45W charging, expandable storage, or its listed 50MP main camera matters more to you. Confirm whether the listing is the 4GB or 6GB model.
  • Compare checkout prices before deciding because the available price snapshot is dated and does not verify matching configurations.
