Which has the better display?
On the Australian specifications, the g85 has the advantage in panel category and resolution: it is listed with a pOLED FHD+ screen, compared with the g37 power’s HD+ LCD. The Australian g85 listing also gives it a 144 Hz refresh rate versus 120 Hz for the g37 power. Motorola’s France g85 page lists a 120 Hz display instead, another reason not to treat a specification from one country as universal.

These figures describe the listed hardware, not measured brightness, color accuracy, outdoor readability, or perceived smoothness. They support an on-paper display comparison, not a definitive claim about real-world screen quality.
Which has the larger battery, and what does that mean?
The Australian listing gives the g37 power a 7,000 mAh battery, with 6,790 mAh rated capacity; Motorola lists 5,000 mAh for the g85. That makes the g37 power the higher-capacity choice on paper. Capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts: screen use, network conditions, software, and other factors affect endurance, and the cited specifications do not include comparative battery testing.

Are the processors and memory configurations comparable?
For Australia, Motorola lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 in the g85 and a Dimensity 6400 in the g37 power. Motorola’s France page instead lists a Dimensity 6300 for the g37 power. The cited specifications provide no benchmark results, so they do not establish which phone is faster in apps, games, or everyday tasks.
Configuration matters as well. The Australian g37 power listing offers 4 GB or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, with expansion up to 1 TB. The France listing gives 256 GB storage. The cited Australian g85 page lists 8 GB RAM, while Motorola France lists a 256 GB configuration. Check the exact memory and storage option on the local seller’s listing rather than assuming that a configuration is available everywhere.

What differs in charging, expandable storage, NFC, and 5G?
Motorola Australia lists 33 W charging for the g85 and 30 W for the g37 power. The France g85 listing gives 30 W charging, so the regional difference applies here too. The France g85 page also lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB; Australia’s g37 power page specifies expansion up to 1 TB. The cited pages do not establish that every regional variant supports the same expansion.
NFC availability for the g37 power varies by market, according to Motorola’s France listing. Before purchase, check the exact local model’s NFC entry and 5G bands against your carrier’s requirements. The cited specifications do not provide a single universal band or NFC configuration for either phone.

What is the price difference?
There is no universal price gap established by the available India snapshots: the official and third-party listings show different ordering and configuration context. Motorola India’s family page, accessed on 2026-10-07, displayed the g85 5G at ₹15,999 against an MRP of ₹20,999 and the g37 power at ₹19,999 against an MRP of ₹26,499. These are dated displayed prices, not guaranteed checkout prices.
A Smartprix snapshot last updated 2026-10-04 listed the g85 at ₹22,999 for a 12 GB/256 GB configuration and the g37 power 5G at ₹17,250.
