Motorola announced the G45 5G in India on 21 August 2024, with its first sale scheduled for 28 August. Launch prices were ₹10,999 for 4GB RAM and ₹12,999 for 8GB RAM, both with 128GB storage; a conditional ₹1,000 launch offer was also announced. These are historical launch prices, not current offers. Check the live price and exact configuration before comparing it with another phone. How good is the display and build?
The 6.5-inch IPS LCD combines HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. That higher refresh rate helps motion and scrolling look smoother, but it does not make text or fine details as sharp as they appear on a Full HD+ panel. If you often read small text, watch high-resolution video or use the phone outdoors, resolution and brightness are worth weighing alongside refresh rate.

Digit measured 482 nits under direct sunlight in its test and found outdoor readability limited. That is a result from one review unit and test, not a guarantee of identical performance in every condition. Digit also noted the vegan-leather rear and distinctive colors as appealing for the price; Motorola specifies Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front.
Is performance good for everyday use and gaming?
For messaging, browsing, video and switching among everyday apps, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and up-to-8GB RAM configuration make the G45 5G a convincing budget option. 91mobiles described daily use and multitasking as smooth. Digit also reported good benchmark performance, while noting slower storage behavior than in its Lava Blaze 2 comparison. These are observations from specific review units and methods, not a promise that every configuration or workload will behave identically.

Gaming is more mixed. Digit reported frame drops in demanding games including BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. The phone can suit casual play, but buyers who prioritize sustained performance in graphically intensive games should treat the G45 as a budget device with limited headroom, rather than assuming that its everyday responsiveness carries over to heavy gaming.

How good are the cameras?
The rear camera setup is described in Digit’s review as a 50MP main camera and 2MP macro camera; the front camera is 16MP. There is no optical image stabilization on the main camera, so the phone lacks that hardware aid for reducing blur from hand movement.

Reviewers found the best results in daylight and portrait use. Digit liked the saturated look of daylight images but noted missed shadow detail, while 91mobiles found daylight and portrait performance comparatively strong against the Itel Color Pro and Infinix Hot 40i in its test. Those comparisons apply to the phones and conditions tested, not every rival or scene.
Low light is the clearer weakness: both reviews flagged limitations, including noise, weak detail or inaccurate skin tones. Choose the G45 for casual daylight photos, not if dependable night photography or stabilized video is a priority.

How long does the battery last, and how quickly does it charge?
Motorola specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 18W charging. Review results suggest the capacity translates to about a day for typical use, rather than a dependable multi-day runtime, but the tests used different conditions.
- Digit recorded 13 hours 42 minutes in its PCMark battery test and took 1 hour 36 minutes to charge from empty to full. Its review unit included a 20W TurboPower adapter in the box.
- 91mobiles reported 94 minutes to charge from 20% to 100% and said its use required charging by the end of the day.
These figures are reviewer results, not directly comparable charging tests: the starting charge levels differ, and the sources do not establish that every market or box configuration includes the same adapter. Check the local package contents if the charger matters to your purchase.

What software and update support should you expect?
The G45 5G launched with Android 14, and Motorola promised an Android 15 upgrade. Reviewers described the interface as relatively clean, but noted suggested content and app folders. Gadgets 360 says users can disable Glance and MotoHub prompts; Digit describes suggested GamesHub, Entertainment and Shopping folders.
The security-update duration is not consistently reported: Gadgets 360 describes two years of security updates at two-month intervals, while Digit reports three years. Because those accounts conflict, do not rely on either duration as settled. Check Motorola’s current, model-specific support information before buying if update longevity is a deciding factor; the Moto G45 5G support page provides access to support materials.

The Moto G45 5G is a well-rounded budget 5G choice when everyday responsiveness, smooth scrolling, expandable storage and its finish are your priorities. The HD+ screen, limited heavy-gaming headroom and uneven camera performance make its compromises clear, while its battery is better treated as an all-day proposition. Judge it against phones at the same live price and RAM configuration—not its 2024 launch price—and confirm Motorola’s current update policy if long-term support matters most.
