Which phone has the bigger or brighter display?
The Redmi 17 5G has the larger listed panel at 6.9 inches. Both phones use HD+ resolution and support refresh rates up to 120Hz, so neither has a resolution advantage on paper. Motorola specifies a high-brightness mode up to 1,050 nits; the cited Xiaomi Global specification page does not state a comparable brightness figure. That leaves the listed brightness comparison incomplete, rather than proof that one screen is brighter in all conditions.

Battery capacity and charging depend on the Redmi market
Moto G37 Power 5G
Motorola lists a 7,000mAh battery, with 6,790mAh rated capacity, 30W TurboPower wired charging, and 6W wired reverse charging. The company also claims battery life of up to 62 hours; this is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified or directly comparable endurance test. Motorola specifications
Redmi 17 5G
Xiaomi Global lists a 7,500mAh typical battery and 45W charging, and says a power adapter is not included in the box. Xiaomi India separately advertises a 7,900mAh typical battery and 45W charging for its India-market phone. Do not combine those battery figures into one universal Redmi specification: verify the exact regional model and what its box includes. Xiaomi Global specifications · Xiaomi India product page

The listed 45W charging rate is higher than Motorola’s 30W rating, but those figures alone do not establish actual charging times. The phones’ reverse-charging figures also differ: Motorola lists 6W wired reverse charging, while Xiaomi Global lists up to 22.5W wired reverse charging.
Performance, RAM and storage
The Moto uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 built on a 6nm process; Xiaomi Global lists a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 for the Redmi. Process-node and chipset names do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use, gaming, or sustained workloads. No independent comparative performance results are established here.

Configuration matters when comparing prices. Motorola lists 4GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. Xiaomi Global lists region-dependent combinations, including 4GB or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and UFS 2.2. Confirm the RAM and storage of the actual listings being compared rather than assuming the quoted prices apply to equivalent versions.
Both phones support microSD expansion. Motorola specifies cards up to 1TB; Xiaomi Global specifies up to 2TB. Xiaomi describes microSD as optional, and cards are sold separately; check the handset’s regional variant and card compatibility before relying on a particular capacity.

Cameras: similar headline resolution, different video listings
Both manufacturers list a 50MP rear main camera and an 8MP front camera. Motorola lists rear recording up to 2K at 30fps and FHD at 60fps, and front recording up to 2K at 30fps. Xiaomi Global lists up to 1080p at 30fps for both rear and front recording. These capture-mode specifications do not show which phone takes better photos or video; resolution alone is not a reliable quality ranking.

Motorola lists the Moto at 215g, with IP64 water resistance, Gorilla Glass 7i, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 3.5mm headset jack. Xiaomi Global lists the Redmi at 232g, with IP64, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Moto is lighter by the listed weights, but both are large-battery phones. Xiaomi lists NFC availability as market-dependent; the Motorola specification page opened for this comparison does not list NFC. That is not enough to guarantee NFC absence on every Moto regional variant.

Software support: the India Redmi commitment
Xiaomi India advertises HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 for the India-market Redmi 17 5G, with four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. Treat this as a market-specific commitment on Xiaomi India’s product page; it should not be assumed for every global or imported Redmi configuration. Motorola’s support page lists Android 16 for the Moto G37 Power, but the cited page does not state a comparable update-duration commitment. Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Moto G37 Power 5G if the lower listed India comparison price, lower listed weight, Motorola’s stated high-brightness mode, or its 8GB RAM option matters most. The price is only a comparison snapshot, so check current equivalent-SKU offers.
- Consider the Redmi 17 5G if you want the larger 6.9-inch display, higher listed wired charging rate, or Xiaomi India’s stated update commitment on the India-market model. Confirm that commitment and battery specification apply to the SKU you are buying.
- Compare exact versions before deciding if you care most about battery capacity, storage, camera performance, network compatibility, NFC, or the included charger. Regional details differ, and the listed hardware alone cannot settle real-world speed, endurance, or image quality.
