Russian authorities say they arrested three alleged members of the DataSuckers data-extortion group, which has been linked in media reports to incidents involving companies in Russia and Ukraine. The Moscow Tverskoy District Court publicly identified only 19-year-old Denis Alekseevich Friedman, placing him under house arrest through December 8, 2026. The order is a pretrial measure, not a conviction, and the identities and alleged roles of the other detainees have not been publicly established.

Kommersant reported that on October 14, 2026, the Tverskoy District Court ordered Friedman to remain under house arrest until December 8. A house-arrest order limits a suspect while investigators prepare a case; it does not determine guilt.

Authorities report three arrests, but only one name
Risky Business reported that Russian authorities arrested three alleged DataSuckers members and described the wider group as having four members operating across Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The court notice confirms Friedman’s name and status, but, as Syndicate noted, it does not establish the identities, responsibilities or locations of the other alleged participants. No public indictment naming those people has been identified.
How investigators say the group operated
Reporting describes DataSuckers as financially motivated rather than politically aligned. The alleged method was to break into corporate networks, copy data, disrupt or destroy systems where possible, and demand money while threatening to sell the stolen files. The group communicated mainly in Russian and claimed victims in both Russia and Ukraine. Those observations describe the group’s public posture and reported targets, not a judicial finding about the operators’ motives or sponsorship.

Kommersant reported allegations that exposed company credentials posted on GitHub provided a route into connected corporate systems, cloud storage and databases. Investigators reportedly linked Friedman to the activity after a home IP address appeared when stolen data was accessed. These details remain media-reported allegations; no independent public forensic report has established the full intrusion chain.
Dodo Pizza: large figures remain estimates
Dodo Pizza said potentially exposed fields included customers’ names, dates of birth, residence and email addresses, telephone numbers and recent orders. The company said it did not store payment data, so payment-card information was not exposed from its systems. It said attackers were blocked, an internal investigation began and Roskomnadzor was notified.

Kommersant reported estimates of approximately 3.7 terabytes and 33 billion records. The same reporting attributed more than 860 million orders over 15 years, 68 million customer records and 431,000 employee records to the incident. Those totals are reported estimates or claims, not an independently audited count, and should not be treated as a verified inventory of unique people or files.

Tez Tour reported no signs of customer-data compromise
Tez Tour was named as another alleged target. Its commercial director, Voskan Arzumanov, said the company found no “признаков компрометации данных туристов и партнеров” — in context, no signs that tourists’ or partners’ data had been compromised. The company also said its internal system was isolated. That is Tez Tour’s statement about its own review, not independent confirmation that no information was accessed.

ATB Market: ransom demand disputed by the victim
Hacker Posts reported that Ukrainian retailer ATB Market confirmed a cyberattack on October 5, 2026. DataSuckers demanded $400,000 and claimed to hold information on 7.9 million customers. ATB disputed that customer data had been lost. The competing accounts have not been independently resolved, so the 7.9-million figure must be treated as the attackers’ claim rather than a confirmed breach total.
What the Ukraine-Russia connection does—and does not—show
The reported victim list spans both countries: Dodo Pizza and Tez Tour are Russian companies, while ATB Market is Ukrainian. That geography explains why coverage links the arrests to breaches in Ukraine and Russia. It does not, by itself, demonstrate state direction, espionage, a political objective or cooperation with any government. The available accounts instead portray an extortion operation pursuing access, data and ransom payments.

What happens to the alleged members next
Friedman’s house arrest runs until December 8 unless a court changes the measure. Investigators must still develop and present evidence before a trial can determine whether he committed the alleged offenses. The reported arrest of three people does not establish that all four alleged group members were captured, nor does it identify who supposedly handled intrusion, data theft or extortion.

An account identified by Syndicate as @latcert said: «Никаких комментариев по этому поводу давать не будем, Datasuckers как бренд закончил свое существование еще 11 октября до задержания.» The statement says the “Datasuckers” brand ended on October 11, before the arrests. Syndicate cautioned that it concerns the name or brand and does not prove every participant stopped operating; a rebrand or continuation by individuals cannot be ruled out from that comment.
For now, the firmest facts are the court’s house-arrest order and the companies’ own statements. The identities of the other suspects, the final size of the alleged datasets and whether ATB customer information was actually taken remain open questions pending formal charges, evidence and independent technical findings.
