What kind of game is it?
Capcom describes Monster Hunter Stories 3 as the third game and official sequel in the Monster Hunter Stories series. Rather than hunting monsters as in the mainline series, players take the role of Monster Riders who bond with, raise, and coexist with monsters. Xbox Wire characterizes this installment as a turn-based RPG.
The story follows the prince or princess of Azuria and Eleanor, princess of Vermeil. They set out for forbidden ground, each guided by their own hopes and convictions. Capcom’s August 1, 2025 announcement listed Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as platforms; that was the platform list at the time, while the later Xbox Wire post specifically announces Xbox on PC.

Is there a trial version?
Xbox Wire says a free trial is available on Xbox Series X|S and that progress can carry over to the full game. The announcement does not confirm a PC trial, so do not assume the trial is available on Windows based on the console offer.
