How is securitized debt different from the planned IPO?
The debt and share offer are separate financing events. Bondholders are owed repayment under the debt instruments; an IPO involves shares and gives investors an ownership interest in the company. The reported EGP 4 billion debt raise should not be described as funding the IPO.

Coverage differs on whether the final transaction could include new shares. The Meridian describes the 320 million-share base offer as fully secondary, meaning existing shares sold by the parent. Business Tech News says the September 30 intention-to-float announcement allowed for an increase to as much as 25% and described up to 170 million new shares as a possible component. The Meridian reported that the EGX Listing Committee had granted temporary listing approval in September. That is distinct from final approval of the prospectus and offering.
