The PlayStation first-party PS5 game highlighted in the September 2026 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup was MLB The Show 26. It was included at no additional charge for eligible members during the monthly claim period, but that period ended October 5, 2026. As of October 7, it can no longer be claimed through that offer.
Which PS5 game was included, and when?
Sony’s September Monthly Games lineup included MLB The Show 26 for PS5, alongside Sniper Elite: Resistance and Wobbly Life for PS5 and PS4, and Chained Echoes for PS4. Sony announced that the September games would be available from September 1 through Monday, October 5, 2026. Sony’s September lineup announcement notes that Monthly Games may vary by region, so the local PlayStation Store is the best place to confirm regional availability.

MLB The Show 26 was the PS5-only title in that lineup; Sony listed no PS4 version for it in the September offer.

What did “free for 24 hours” mean?
The “24 hours” description referred to roughly the final day of the September claim period, not a separate one-day trial. ComicBook.com reported on October 5 that the games were due to be replaced the next day. Sony’s published window ended on October 5, so the precise remaining time depended on when and where a reader checked the offer.

“Free” also needs a qualification: Monthly Games are a PlayStation Plus membership benefit, not a no-strings giveaway. ComicBook.com reported that the September offer was available to Essential, Extra, and Premium members, and that access to claimed games depends on keeping an active subscription. Sony’s cited September announcement refers to PlayStation Plus members generally rather than enumerating tiers.
Can you still claim MLB The Show 26 through this offer?
No. The September Monthly Games claim window ended October 5, 2026. Sony’s October lineup began October 6 and was scheduled to run through November 2:
