Reports published October 8, 2026 listed several Apple products still discounted, including AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Series 12 and the M5 MacBook Air. Treat those figures as dated reported prices, not live checkout prices. Before buying, confirm the price, configuration, seller and stock on the live listing.
What was still reported after the event

The sources were published at different moments, and some were written while the event was still running. That alone can explain small gaps. The AirPods Pro 3 figure is the clearest example: MacRumors reported $179 on October 8, while TechRadar reported $179.99 during the sale. The Apple Watch Series 12 46mm listing shows a similar split between $399.99 and $399. The reports do not explain these differences, so read each figure as what one outlet saw on one date, not as a price you can count on at checkout.

The reference price needs context
A discount is only as meaningful as the price it is measured against. For the M5 MacBook Air, Tom’s Guide said the $200 reduction brought both laptops back to their pre-price-hike prices. That means the sale largely reverses a recent increase. It does not establish that these are the lowest prices the laptops have ever sold for, and it does not show they beat the original launch price. Macworld’s October 7, 2026 coverage also warned about price increases in June, which is the backdrop for this comparison. If you are deciding whether a deal is good, compare the live price with the price history rather than the struck-through reference figure alone.
How to verify an offer before you buy
- Open the product page from Amazon and confirm the model, screen size or watch case size, and memory and storage options match the row you are considering. The 42mm and 46mm Apple Watch Series 12 GPS models and the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are priced differently, so a sale on one size does not carry over to the other.
- Check the price shown on the product page for the exact configuration you selected, not the headline price in a search result or an article.
- Confirm the seller. Compare the sold-by and shipped-by details, since the same product can carry different prices from different sellers.
- Confirm stock and the estimated delivery date for your location.
- Open Price History. Amazon’s own guidance says: “Tap ‘Price History’ on any product detail page, or ask Alexa for Shopping, to see up to 365 days of pricing data for that item.” Use that history to judge whether the current price is genuinely below recent levels.

- M5 MacBook Air comes in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Choose based on portability and screen space, and check that the memory and storage configuration matches what you need, since the reported prices apply to the 16GB and 512GB configuration.
