What are the Miele DAS 2620’s dimensions and specifications?
Miele’s UK specification sheet lists a body measuring 596 × 36 × 273 mm. It is designed for integration into a wall unit; the 596 mm width is not, by itself, confirmation that it will fit a particular cabinet niche.

The EU data sheet assigns class A values for energy, fluid-dynamic, lighting and grease-filtering efficiency within its stated labeling framework. Efficiency classes are declared under that framework; they do not establish how much cooking vapour this hood will capture in a specific kitchen.
How loud is the Miele DAS 2620?
Miele’s UK sheet lists sound power from 47 dB(A) on level 1 to 68 dB(A) on boost. It separately lists sound pressure from 34 to 54 dB(A) across those settings. These are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements taken in a home. Sound power and sound pressure are different measures, so compare the DAS 2620 with another hood using the same measure, fan setting and comparable test conditions.

Can the Miele DAS 2620 extract air or run in recirculation mode?
It can be configured either way. In extraction mode, air is carried out through ducting. Recirculation returns filtered air to the room and needs optional conversion equipment and charcoal filtration; the standard grease filter alone is not the full recirculation setup.
Miele’s regional documents name DUU 150 or DUU 151 conversion kits and DKFS/DKF charcoal-filter variants. Names and available accessories differ across markets and documents, so confirm the exact kit and filter compatibility for the local DAS 2620 model before ordering.

What size cabinet do I need for a DAS 2620?
The body is 596 mm wide, 36 mm high and 273 mm deep according to Miele’s UK sheet, but those dimensions do not specify every cabinet opening, support or clearance needed for an installation. Miele’s German product page says the cabinet needs a front underside for attachment; if the hood sits farther back, the support panel may need to extend farther. A silencer or recirculation kit can also affect cabinet height and cut-outs.

- Confirm the cabinet niche, mounting arrangement and support panel can accommodate the hood.
- Plan the duct diameter and route for extraction, or reserve the required space for conversion and charcoal-filter accessories.
- Check the space needed for accessories, cut-outs and cabinet height.
- Verify the required clearance above the cooktop using the manual and cooktop instructions that apply in your country.
Miele’s German product page publishes minimum distances of 450 mm above electric cooktops and 650 mm above gas cooktops within its stated power limits. Treat these as Germany-market product-page values, not a substitute for the applicable local manual, cooktop requirements or professional installation rules.
What is included, and what needs maintenance?
Miele lists one dishwasher-safe, 10-ply stainless-steel grease filter and a CleanCover interior. The filter captures grease; in recirculation mode, a compatible charcoal filter is also needed to address odours. Confirm the correct replacement charcoal-filter variant for the country and conversion kit. A precise replacement part number for the grease filter is not established in the cited product information.

How should you compare it with another 60 cm hood?
Compare details that affect your kitchen, not just the headline airflow number. Regional figures can refer to different configurations, and sound figures are meaningful only when the measure and setting match.
- Fit: cabinet width and depth, mounting support, cooktop clearance, duct route and room for recirculation components.
- Air movement: airflow at ordinary settings and boost, with region, test conditions and extraction or recirculation mode identified.
- Noise: like-for-like sound-power figures at the same fan setting; do not compare sound power with sound pressure.
- Running and filter needs: declared energy use, grease-filtering efficiency, cleaning requirements and the cost and availability of replacement charcoal filters.
- Everyday use: how the pull-out deflector and fan controls operate, and whether the published lighting suits the work surface.
Verdict
The DAS 2620’s published specifications describe a compact, configurable cabinet hood with useful documented features, but they do not amount to an independent review of its performance. Its suitability depends chiefly on whether your cabinetry, clearances and chosen ducted or recirculating setup work with the model. Verify those details against local installation documents before committing.
