Microsoft is offering a collection of 25 Xbox games at no additional cost with select Windows 11 PCs bought in the United States. The promotion celebrates Xbox’s 25th anniversary and is scheduled to begin November 2, 2026. Microsoft says the games have a combined stated value of more than $500, but the offer is limited by participating retailers, available supplies and hardware compatibility.
What the Windows 11 PC Xbox offer includes
According to Microsoft’s Windows Experience Blog announcement published October 15, 2026, an eligible Windows 11 PC purchased in the U.S. can claim 25 digital games. Microsoft has publicly named five titles so far:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
- Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
- Minecraft Dungeons
- Gears of War: Reloaded
The complete 25-game list has not yet been published. Microsoft also has not released the final model list, game ratings, system requirements or complete legal terms. Those details are scheduled for aka.ms/XBOXbundle on November 2, 2026.
Purchase and redemption deadlines
| Requirement | Official timing or condition |
|---|---|
| Eligible purchase window | November 2 through December 31, 2026 |
| Availability | Participating U.S. retailers, while supplies last |
| Activation and claim deadline | The PC must be activated and the bundle claimed by February 12, 2027 |
| Where to claim | The Microsoft Store app on the eligible PC |
| Microsoft’s stated bundle value | More than $500; Microsoft’s valuation, not a guaranteed cash value |
Buying a Windows 11 computer outside the United States, buying before November 2, or waiting until after supplies run out does not establish eligibility. Microsoft has not said that every Windows 11 PC qualifies.

How to claim the 25 games
- Buy a qualifying PC. Purchase an eligible Windows 11 device from a participating U.S. retailer between November 2 and December 31, 2026. Check the model-level terms Microsoft publishes on November 2 before assuming a particular configuration is included.
- Activate the computer. Complete Windows setup on the purchased device. Microsoft requires activation before the bundle can be claimed.
- Open the Microsoft Store app. Use the eligible PC’s Microsoft Store app to locate the anniversary bundle offer.
- Sign in to the intended Microsoft account. The claimed PC versions are linked to that account, so use the account that should retain ownership.
- Claim before February 12, 2027. The activation and digital claim must both be completed by this deadline. A purchase made during the sale window does not provide unlimited time to redeem.
Microsoft has not yet published the exact on-screen redemption wording or whether every title appears as one claim or as separate entitlements. The November 2 terms should answer those implementation questions.
Can one eligible PC run all 25 games?
Not necessarily. Microsoft explicitly warns that some eligible devices cannot play all 25 games. Eligibility for the promotion and performance capability are separate questions: a computer can qualify for the giveaway while lacking the graphics hardware, memory or processor needed for particular titles.

Where the games can be played
After redemption, the PC versions are attached to the buyer’s Microsoft account and can be played on any compatible Windows PC. That does not mean every title runs on every Windows computer, nor that every title is available on an Xbox console.
- Windows PCs: Account-linked PC licenses can be used on compatible Windows PCs after claiming.
- Xbox consoles: Select games support Xbox Play Anywhere and can also be played on Xbox Series X|S. Microsoft has not said that all 25 titles have this support.
- Console exclusions: Some games cannot be played on Xbox consoles at all.
- Age restrictions: Age-based content restrictions apply, so a child or family account may not be able to access every title.
How to evaluate a qualifying PC
Once Microsoft publishes the model list, compare shortlisted systems on more than the free-game headline:

- Play games with friends beside you on the sofa or across the globe on Xbox Live
- Stream video and watch UHD Blu-ray movies in stunning 4K Ultra HD and experience rich, luminous colors in games and video with High Dynamic Range technology
- Confirm the exact retailer, model and configuration are listed as eligible.
- Check CPU, GPU and RAM against each game’s requirements, not just the least demanding title.
- Determine whether the machine can run the complete bundle at acceptable settings.
- Balance screen quality, battery life and portability against gaming performance.
- Compare price, warranty and return terms; the bundle’s stated value does not make an unsuitable PC a good purchase.
- Check whether Xbox Play Anywhere matters to you, since support is limited to selected games.
Do not treat a retailer’s generic “Windows 11 gaming PC” label as proof of eligibility until Microsoft’s November 2 terms identify the model.

Why the timing matters for Xbox’s anniversary
Xbox’s 25th anniversary falls on November 15, 2026. Xbox has also announced anniversary programming that includes curated Game Pass collections, an Xbox 25th-anniversary profile badge available through the end of 2026, FanFest tour stops and an official Xbox Gear merchandise shop. The PC bundle is one part of that broader anniversary campaign, not a general free-game promotion for all Windows users.

What remains unknown
Until the official terms go live, shoppers cannot reliably answer several practical questions:
- The names of the remaining 20 games.
- The exact Windows 11 PC models and configurations that qualify.
- Minimum and recommended specifications for each bundled game.
- Whether any games have regional, account, launcher or content limitations beyond the announced U.S. purchase requirement.
- Which individual titles support Xbox Play Anywhere.
Microsoft’s November 2 publication at aka.ms/XBOXbundle is the controlling reference for those details.
The practical verdict
This is a substantial incentive if you already plan to buy a qualifying Windows 11 PC in the United States during the November 2–December 31 window. It is not a reason to buy an underpowered or otherwise unsuitable computer: the full game list and requirements are still pending, some eligible PCs will not run every title, and redemption expires February 12, 2027. Verify the exact model and compatibility terms on November 2 before completing a purchase.
