Popular Science reported that Amazon listed the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop (2026) for $1,399.99 during Prime Big Deal Days, describing it as $300 off. That is a time-specific reported offer, not confirmation that the laptop is still available at that price. Amazon scheduled the 2026 event for October 6–7, a 48-hour sale for Prime members.
Which Surface Laptop is the reported deal?
The deal report is for the 13.8-inch Surface Laptop (2026). It is not the separately announced 13-inch Surface Laptop with Snapdragon X2 Plus. Those are distinct models, so a price comparison should identify the screen size and model rather than treating them as the same laptop.

Is the Surface Laptop actually $300 off?
Popular Science reported an Amazon price of $1,399.99 and characterized it as $300 off. The report does not establish whether the offer remains live, whether the item is in stock, or which seller and exact configuration the current listing shows. Before buying, check the product listing and the final checkout price; the reported discount should not be treated as a currently verified saving.
How does it compare with Microsoft’s new 13-inch model?
Microsoft announced a separate 13-inch Surface Laptop powered by Snapdragon X2 Plus. Microsoft lists a starting MSRP of $1,199 and planned availability from October 13, 2026, in select markets. That is a starting MSRP for the new model, not the reported Amazon price for the 13.8-inch laptop, and the announced availability date follows Prime Big Deal Days.
