City Edition is the NBA’s seasonal uniform category; Vice is a Miami Heat design theme used on some of those uniforms. Vice City is the name of the Heat’s newly announced Nov. 18, 2026 event tied to Grand Theft Auto VI, and its uniform is a separate new design that had not been revealed as of Oct. 3, 2026.
What the names mean
- City Edition describes a category of seasonal NBA uniforms built around a team- or city-related story. It is not a single design style.
- Vice refers to a Miami Heat design family inspired by the city, including the earlier Vice Nights and ViceVersa looks.
- Vice City is the Heat’s announced name for a one-night event and uniform connected to Grand Theft Auto VI. The team says it will play Milwaukee on Nov. 18, 2026, with a special court and a new uniform.
So, yes: earlier Vice jerseys were City Edition uniforms. But the label “Vice City” does not mean the newly announced uniform is simply the old Vice Nights jersey returning.

The shared Vice identity does not make every version identical: palettes, construction and placement can vary. The clearest visual shorthand for the original Vice Nights look is its black base, pink-and-blue details and Miami Arena lettering.
City Edition does not always mean Vice
The Heat’s 2023–24 “Heat Culture” uniform shows why the category and theme should not be confused. It was a City Edition design centered on “Heat Culture” and Pat Riley’s team mantra, rather than the Vice palette. What is known about the 2026–27 Vice City uniform
Miami’s official event page describes “A Night In Vice City” on Nov. 18, 2026, against Milwaukee. It promises a one-night court and a “new, completely reimagined uniform for the night,” but does not show or describe the uniform itself. The Heat’s official Vice City event page is therefore the source for the event details, not a preview of the jersey’s appearance.
Axios reported on Oct. 2, 2026, that the partnership involves Grand Theft Auto VI and that Miami had launched a Vice City clothing collection. It characterized the existing Vice jerseys as popular pastel-colored designs; that is the outlet’s description, not a published sales figure. Does the Vice City clothing collection include the game uniform?
Not necessarily. The team’s event page links to a Vice City apparel collection in the Miami HEAT Store, but does not establish that the game-night uniform itself is already for sale. An apparel collection and the announced uniform are not proof of the same product being available.
