Only one METRO 2039 edition has a publicly confirmed extra: the planned Collector’s Edition includes a wearable, full-scale replica of the Stranger’s Spartan helmet. Deep Silver has not yet published the complete contents or prices for the Standard, Deluxe or Collector’s Editions, so any full three-way comparison circulating online is premature.
METRO 2039 is scheduled to launch on February 4, 2027, with February 5 listed for some territories, including Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition are expected later in 2026. Here is what is established, what remains unknown and how to evaluate the editions when the official listings go live.

What is confirmed about the three METRO 2039 editions?
Deep Silver has confirmed that a Collector’s Edition is planned, but it has not released a complete package inventory. The publisher has also said that more information about editions will be shared before launch. No official Standard or Deluxe contents list or price was available in the published announcements and platform listings.

What comes in the Collector’s Edition?
The confirmed helmet replica
The announced physical feature is a full-scale replica of the Stranger’s Spartan helmet. Deep Silver says it was created from the helmet’s in-game 3D model. The description includes gas-mask components and weathered detailing intended to match the game’s worn post-apocalyptic appearance.
“Full-scale” establishes that the replica is intended to match the size of the wearable game prop, not that it has been certified for protective use. The announcement does not state the dimensions, materials, weight, fit range, electronics, lighting, ventilation or whether the gas-mask elements are removable. Those specifications should be checked in the final product listing rather than inferred from screenshots.
What the announcement does not establish
- Whether a physical or digital copy of the game is included.
- Which platform formats will be offered.
- Whether a steelbook, art book, soundtrack, figurine, patch, map or downloadable content is included.
- Whether the helmet is individually numbered or produced in a limited quantity.
- Whether the edition ships to every launch region.
- Its price, shipping schedule and final retail partners.
Deep Silver says it will reveal where Collector’s Edition pre-orders can be secured. Until that announcement, a retailer page, reservation form or social-media image is not proof that an offer is authorized or complete.

What is in the Standard Edition?
There is no official Standard Edition inventory to quote yet. In particular, the available material does not establish whether the Standard package is a physical game disc, a digital license, a download code in a physical box or a platform-dependent combination. It also does not establish launch bonuses, early-access rights, cosmetic items or any included downloadable content.
That absence matters when comparing prices. A lower price could reflect a digital-only license, while a similarly named physical edition could include manufacturing and shipping costs. Until the product page specifies the format and platform, calling Standard the “basic game” is an assumption rather than a confirmed description.
What is in the Deluxe Edition?
Deep Silver has not published an official Deluxe Edition contents list or price. Common extras such as a steelbook, art book, soundtrack, expansion pass or cosmetic pack should not be attributed to METRO 2039 unless they appear in an authorized listing or publisher announcement.
The unverified retailer-image report circulating in October 2026 is not sufficient evidence for a purchase decision. Early listings can contain placeholder text, regional pricing, incorrect images or packages that are changed before release. Treat any alleged Deluxe bundle as a lead to verify, not as a specification.

Release date, platforms and regional timing
Deep Silver lists February 4, 2027 as the METRO 2039 launch date and notes February 5 for some territories, including Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The date is therefore not necessarily identical worldwide; check the local store page before assuming midnight access or delivery on February 4.
| Platform information | What the official listings establish |
|---|---|
| Xbox | The official Xbox product page lists Xbox Series X|S and Windows as supported platforms. It identifies Deep Silver as publisher and 4A Games as developer. |
| PlayStation | The official PlayStation listing gives a February 4, 2027 release date. The exact console format and edition availability should be confirmed on the regional store page. |
| Windows | Windows is listed on the official Xbox product page. Whether a particular edition uses a code, account entitlement or another delivery method remains unconfirmed. |
Platform support does not automatically mean every edition will be sold in every format. A Collector’s box may be offered with a platform-specific game code, a disc for one console family and no game media for PC. Look for those distinctions in the final listing.
How to compare the editions when listings arrive
Use the same five checks for every platform and region. This prevents a tempting physical collectible or a headline price from hiding a missing game format or an incompatible version.
- Confirm the game format. Identify whether the package contains a disc, a platform download code or a digital store entitlement. For PC, verify whether the box contains a code rather than a disc and which account or launcher redeems it.
- Confirm the platform. Match the listing to Xbox Series X|S, Windows or the relevant PlayStation console. Do not assume a code can be transferred between platforms.
- List included game content. Separate the base game from expansions, season passes, missions and cosmetic items. A bonus described as “available at launch” may still require a download.
- Check physical collectibles. Record the helmet’s dimensions, materials, weight, power requirements and care instructions if the final page supplies them. For any additional item, verify whether it is actually in the box or merely pictured as promotional art.
- Compare the delivered price. Use the price for your country, including taxes, shipping and any deposit or cancellation terms. A one-time promotional price should not be compared with a recurring subscription or an estimated figure.
What to verify before pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition
Authenticity and retailer status
Deep Silver says it will share where Collector’s Edition pre-orders can be secured. Wait for that guidance or use a retailer that clearly identifies the authorized product code and platform. A page that copies the helmet image but lacks a final SKU, release date or publisher-linked description may be a placeholder.
Physical size and storage
A full-scale wearable helmet can require substantially more shelf and shipping space than a standard game box. The announcement does not provide dimensions or weight, so measure your intended display area and wait for the specification before committing. Confirm whether the helmet arrives assembled, how it is packed and whether the weathered finish needs special cleaning.
Game entitlement
Do not assume that the Collector’s Edition includes the same bonuses as Deluxe. The final listing should state the game platform, physical-versus-digital format and all downloadable entitlements. If the game is supplied as a code, check the regional redemption restrictions before ordering from another country.
Returns and damage claims
Ask how the retailer handles a damaged collectible, a missing code or a split shipment. A collector’s item can be harder to replace than a standard game, especially if quantities are limited. Keep the order confirmation, package photographs and serial information until the contents have been checked.
Should you choose Standard, Deluxe or Collector’s now?
Choose Standard when price and the game itself are your priority
Standard is the only sensible choice to lock in immediately if you simply want to play and an official listing in your region is available at a price you accept. The exact contents are still unannounced, so verify that the offer includes the platform and format you need.
Wait on Deluxe if you need to see the value
There is currently no official Deluxe inventory or price against which to judge the upgrade. Waiting avoids paying for rumored extras that may be changed, removed or limited to another region. Reassess when Deep Silver or an authorized retailer publishes a line-by-line list.
Watch Collector’s if the helmet is the reason to buy
The helmet is the one disclosed physical feature, making Collector’s the edition to monitor for fans who specifically want a wearable Stranger replica. The decision still depends on the final price, game format, shipping region, production quantity and the remaining box contents.
Key dates and information still pending

Bottom line for buyers
METRO 2039 does not yet have a verifiable three-edition comparison. Standard and Deluxe remain undefined in the official information, while Collector’s is confirmed only as a planned package featuring the full-scale Stranger helmet replica. Record the launch date and platform details, then wait for the official contents, prices and pre-order locations before deciding which edition offers the right value.
