A Meta Quest 3S below $300 is a strong price against Meta’s current $349.99 starting price—but the confirmed Amazon price below $300 in the available reporting was during June Prime Day, not verified for October. Amazon’s October 6–7 event is officially called Prime Big Deal Days. Check the live listing before buying or describing it as an October deal.
Was the Quest 3S under $300 for Prime Big Deal Days?
An October 6 Reddit post claims a Quest 3S was $297 for Prime Big Deal Days, but its Amazon listing could not be verified. The claim does not establish the model’s storage, seller, bundle contents, Prime eligibility, or whether the price is still live. Treat $297 as a prompt to check Amazon, not a confirmed October offer. Amazon identifies its October 6–7, 2026 shopping event as Prime Big Deal Days, a 48-hour event with deals across more than 35 categories. Amazon’s event announcement gives the dates and details.

The below-$300 price that is substantiated by deal reporting is historical: Tom’s Hardware reported that Amazon offered the 128GB Quest 3S for $296.79 on June 26, during June Prime Day. Road to VR reported a $300 price for a 128GB Gorilla Tag bundle during the June 23–26 event. Neither June price verifies an October listing. Tom’s Hardware’s June report and Road to VR’s June report document those offers.

How good is a Quest 3S price under $300?
Meta’s product page currently displays a starting price of $349.99. Against that reference, $296.79 is $53.20 less, while $300 is $49.99 less. The first is the reported June Amazon price; the second was the June Gorilla Tag bundle price. Meta’s displayed price can change, and deal prices depend on the exact listing and offer terms. Check Meta’s Quest 3S product page for its current starting price.

There is no market-wide ranking establishing this as one of the year’s “best” Prime Day deals. The case for calling a verified sub-$300 128GB offer good is narrower and practical: it is below Meta’s displayed starting price and near the documented June low. Whether it suits you also depends on storage, the bundle, seller, and whether you will use any included subscription.
Check the actual offer before comparing prices
- Confirm the listing is for the Quest 3S and note whether it is the 128GB or 256GB model.
- Check the seller, final checkout price, Prime requirement, and any shipping or tax charges.
- Read the bundle details. Road to VR’s June coverage described a Gorilla Tag bundle and three free months of Horizon+; those inclusions were part of that offer, not a guarantee for another listing.
- Use Amazon’s eligible product-page Price History feature, which Amazon says may show up to 365 days of history. Do not value a subscription at face value unless you can use it and the offer terms are clear.

What the Quest 3S offers
The Quest 3S is a standalone VR and mixed-reality headset. Meta lists a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and 8GB of RAM, and describes its passthrough as full color using dual RGB cameras. Its product page also lists a passthrough action button and controllers with hand-tracking support. These are Meta’s product claims and specifications, not independent performance test results.

Meta lists the headset’s field of view as 96° by 90°, approximately 20 pixels per degree, and approximately 773 pixels per inch. It describes the Quest 3S as providing the same experience as Quest 3 and uses marketing language comparing its resolution and color with Quest 2. Those descriptions do not substitute for a complete independent or official side-by-side comparison of the headsets’ optics and value.

Quest 3S versus Quest 2 or Quest 3
Meta’s comparison language positions Quest 3S as a newer experience than Quest 2, but a buyer should not treat that as a complete optical comparison. For Quest 3 versus Quest 3S, compare current prices, storage, optical specifications, and bundle contents before choosing. The available product information here does not establish a full current side-by-side comparison, so it is not enough to claim that one headset is better value for every buyer.

Meta says Quest 3S includes a glasses spacer and directs customers who need custom prescription lenses to Zenni MR Prescription Lenses. The spacer may be relevant if you wear glasses, but check fit and comfort for your own use. Confirm the specific prescription-lens model’s compatibility, price, and availability before ordering; Meta’s mention alone does not establish those details.
