The Melody Wings Uranus is a wired, four-driver-per-side IEM built around an airy, detail-forward sound and a particularly strong midrange. In ecoustics reviewer Aaron Sigal’s October 6, 2026 review, its separation and vocal clarity stood out, but he also reported occasional upper-treble sharpness, bass that changed with fit, and a spring-like vibration when the earpieces were moved. Those are individual listening observations, not guaranteed experiences for every owner.
What is the Melody Wings Uranus?
The Uranus is a wired in-ear monitor (IEM) with a quadbrid driver array and a four-way crossover. Each earpiece combines a 10 mm beryllium-coated dynamic driver, a balanced-armature driver, a 10 mm bone-conduction driver, and a piezoelectric driver. The manufacturer’s intended driver roles are described in an AV Watch sponsored feature; those design descriptions should not be confused with independently measured performance.
Its listed specifications are 32 ohms impedance at 1 kHz, sensitivity of 103 dB/mW at 1 kHz, and a stated frequency range of 20 Hz–20 kHz. The supplied 1.2 m four-core silver-plated OCC cable connects through standard 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors and has interchangeable 3.5 mm single-ended, 4.4 mm balanced, and USB-C terminations. The ecoustics review says the USB-C termination incorporates a decoding chip.

The model was reported to launch in Japan on September 28, 2026, at ¥29,990 and globally on October 1, 2026, at $188. These are launch prices, not assurances of current pricing or availability. The project was developed in collaboration with Japanese singer-songwriter Azuna Riko; AV Watch reports her involvement in design, tuning, color, and packaging, and says the launch package included a QR-card download for a specially recorded WAV track.
How does the Uranus sound?
Sigal characterizes its presentation as airy and gently V-shaped, with elevated upper mids and bright, forward treble. In his listening, the result was spacious and lively, with detail and separation that helped make dense arrangements easier to follow. He considered the midrange the IEM’s strongest area: vocals came through clearly, and layered guitars remained distinct.

That clarity comes with a trade-off. The reviewer, who disclosed mild treble sensitivity, found that treble-focused instruments on some recordings could become sharp enough to cross his comfort threshold. Listeners who prefer a smoother, darker balance—or who are sensitive to bright treble—may be less comfortable with the Uranus’s presentation. The extra treble extension may suit listeners who value air and separation, but it is not a universal advantage.
Bass depends on fit
The review describes good sub-bass extension and moderately elevated bass, but also an uneven dip between bass regions and less mid-bass punch than the reviewer wanted. Electronic bass sweeps made the unevenness more apparent to him, while acoustic percussion worked well. He found that a deeper, firmer seal improved low-frequency performance.

That fit observation matters more than a blanket claim that the Uranus is either bass-light or bass-heavy: ear shape, insertion, and tip seal can change the result. The supplied silicone tips were usable for the reviewer, and he reported better isolation with aftermarket alternatives, but no particular aftermarket tip was tested or established as compatible.
Does the Uranus have bone-conduction ringing?
In the ecoustics review, moving or touching the shells could produce a spring-like physical vibration associated with the bone-conduction driver. It was most noticeable to Sigal while inserting or removing the earpieces, and it sometimes occurred when he walked with a heavier gait. He found it less bothersome during ordinary listening. This is a reported quirk from one reviewer, not evidence that every wearer will experience it.

Build, cable, and accessories
Sigal praised the hand-painted faceplates and the modular cable, which allows the user to switch among the included 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, and USB-C terminations. He was less impressed by the resin nozzles, particularly in comparison with metal nozzles on other models. The reported accessory descriptions include a case, cleaning items, a shirt clip, and silicone tips, but published lists differ in how they describe the contents. Confirm the package for the market and seller you are considering rather than assuming every box is identical.

| Model | Reviewer’s description | Likely fit by listening preference | Price reported in the review |
|---|---|---|---|
| Melody Wings Uranus | Airier, brighter, with more upper-treble extension and layering in dense passages | Consider it if separation, detail, and treble air matter more than a smooth or forceful bass presentation. | $188 global launch price; the review also listed an Amazon offer at $199.76 and Bloom Audio at $188. |
| Melody Wings Venus | Warmer and smoother, with less upper-treble sparkle | The reviewer preferred it for mixed-genre consistency and reduced sharpness. | $168 |
| EarAcoustic Audio Oshun | Warmer and more bass-forward, with more punch and rumble | Consider it if bass weight and impact are priorities over the Uranus’s airier upper treble. | About $188 |
These are taste-based distinctions from one review. Check current prices and availability in your region before comparing the models.
Who should consider the Uranus?
- A good match: listeners who prioritize vocal clarity, midrange definition, air, and separation in dense music.
- Think carefully: listeners who are treble-sensitive, want a consistently smooth balance, or expect strong mid-bass punch without experimenting with fit.
- Try the fit deliberately: if bass sounds uneven or subdued, check insertion depth and seal with the supplied tips before judging the low end. Do not assume an untested third-party tip will fit.
- Notice movement noise: if the reported shell vibration matters to you, assess it while inserting and removing the earpieces and during normal movement.
Verdict
The Uranus makes its strongest case with a vivid, open presentation and a midrange that the ecoustics reviewer found especially capable. It is a less straightforward choice for listeners who need smooth treble or predictable bass: the upper end could sound sharp to this reviewer, bass depended on seal, and movement sometimes triggered a spring-like vibration. Its appeal therefore rests on whether detail and separation matter more to you than those fit- and listener-dependent caveats.
