MegazoneCloud and Portal26 announced a reseller and support partnership for Korea on September 28, 2026, aimed at helping enterprises see and govern employees’ use of generative AI—including unapproved services often called “shadow AI.” The announcement describes platform capabilities, not independently verified results.

What the Korea partnership covers

MegazoneCloud says it will resell Portal26’s AI Adoption Management Platform to Korean enterprise customers, provide technical support, and develop security and governance offerings tailored to customer environments. Portal26 will supply its platform and related expertise and work with MegazoneCloud on support and service improvements for Korean customers. The companies also plan joint sales and marketing. The announcement describes a reseller arrangement, not an acquisition or merger, and identifies Korea as its territory. MegazoneCloud’s September 28, 2026 announcement

The companies describe Portal26 as a California-based generative-AI governance and security company. The stated division of work pairs Portal26’s platform and expertise with MegazoneCloud’s local resale and support role.

How the platform is intended to address shadow AI

Shadow AI refers here to generative-AI services employees use without their organization’s approval or oversight. According to the announcement, the platform is designed to identify, analyze, and control AI use across internal development environments and web-based services employees access individually. It is described as providing visibility and controls at both network and browser levels.

Prompt-level data protections

The companies say the platform can detect, mask, or block sensitive information in prompts. That is intended to help organizations manage leakage risk as employees submit information to AI services; the announcement does not establish how accurately these controls work in practice.

Audit records and usage management

The announcement also describes retaining AI-use records as audit trails for security audits and incident analysis, plus tracking token use and costs by AI agent, organization, and team. These are vendor-described functions rather than independently tested outcomes.

What is—and is not—known about performance

MegazoneCloud says the platform can be installed in about 30 minutes. The release does not specify the conditions, scope, or independent validation behind that estimate, so it should not be read as a guaranteed end-to-end deployment time for every organization.

Portal26’s September 28, 2026 partnership announcement cites its own comparisons for enterprises using the platform versus legacy security providers: 24 times more success achieving ROI, three times more shadow-AI detection, and ten times more security coverage. The company page does not provide methodology or independent corroboration for those figures. They are Portal26’s claims, not established comparative results.

MegazoneCloud CEO Yeom Dong-hoon said, in translation, that as generative AI spreads across work, real-time visibility into unapproved AI use and managing sensitive-data leakage risk at the prompt stage have become new security challenges. The statement reflects the problem the partnership is meant to address; it is not evidence of the platform’s effectiveness.

What Korean enterprise buyers should evaluate

The announcement does not give pricing, customer deployments, platform-specific regulatory certifications, or detailed technical architecture. Organizations considering a governance platform can use the capabilities described as evaluation areas, while asking vendors for evidence about implementation and performance:

  • Whether visibility covers both browser-based AI services and network activity, and what deployment access or configuration is required.
  • Which internal development environments and external web services are covered, including how newly adopted or unapproved services are identified.
  • How prompt-level detection, masking, and blocking behave, and how the organization can validate their operation against its own data and policies.
  • What AI-use records are retained, how they support audits or incident investigations, and how retention is configured.
  • How token use and costs are attributed across agents, teams, and organizational units.
  • What Korean-language and local implementation support MegazoneCloud provides, and what the proposed deployment timeline includes.
  • Whether outcome comparisons are supported by disclosed methods, customer evidence, or independent validation.
