Meet Krishna Dosapati, the Clockout Founder Who Raised $3.5 Million for In-Person Connection

Clockout founder and CEO Krishna Dosapati says the networking app is designed to help people find professional communities, clubs and events nearby—and take online discovery offline. Fortune reported on October 2, 2026, that the company had announced $3.5 million in total funding since launch, in a round led by 114 Ventures.

What Clockout does

Clockout is a networking app that lets users browse professionals based on work, interests and mutual connections, and find communities or events organized around industries and interests. Fortune reported that it went live in October 2024. Dosapati described its position as somewhere between LinkedIn and Meetup: professional discovery is paired with clubs and events, with the aim of helping people meet face to face rather than only collect online connections.

The service is aimed in part at people who have moved to a new city or entered a new industry and want to find peers. Dosapati told Fortune that after graduating from NYU and working in New York, she felt her existing network had become fixed and that meeting new peers was difficult. She framed that experience as the motivation for the product, not as evidence that every user faces the same problem.

What the $3.5 million funding announcement means

Fortune reported on October 2, 2026, that Clockout announced $3.5 million in total funding raised since the company started. 114 Ventures led the round; Evite Ventures, Allied Ventures, Sher Ventures, Gaingels, BMPB VC and other investors also participated. Fortune said the company did not disclose its current valuation.

The $3.5 million figure is the total funding reported since launch, not a valuation or a claim about the amount raised in a single newly disclosed round. The company-specific funding details here are those reported by Fortune; no primary announcement from Clockout was available to confirm them independently.

How the app is meant to turn discovery into connection

Dosapati told Fortune that her central question was, “The biggest issue in this space, as a working professional, is how do I actually find a community around my profession?” Clockout’s approach is to make local professionals and interest-based groups discoverable, then offer clubs and events as ways to meet people. That describes the product’s intended role; it does not establish that using the app reduces loneliness or produces lasting friendships or career gains.

  • Fortune attributed to Gallup a finding that 22% of employees under 35 experienced loneliness for much of the previous day in 2025. It also reported Gallup figures of 29% of U.S. adults aged 18–29 experiencing significant daily loneliness in the second quarter of 2025, compared with 21% of U.S. adults overall.
  • Fortune attributed to CBRE’s 2026 survey of 97 office-using companies a finding that 89% required employees to be in the office at least three days a week, up from 78% a year earlier.
  • Fortune cited Strava’s 2025 Year in Sport report as saying the number of clubs on its platform nearly quadrupled during 2025 to 1 million, and that 39% more Gen Z respondents than Gen X respondents said they used fitness to meet people with shared interests.

Those figures are presented here as Fortune reported them, attributed respectively to Gallup, CBRE and Strava; the underlying publications were not independently checked. They help explain the environment in which an app for local communities might appeal, but they do not prove demand for Clockout or that it addresses loneliness as a health intervention.

Clockout’s reported pricing and traction

Fortune described Clockout as freemium. Dosapati said users could pay $99 per year for additional features, including unlimited club and event access, while non-paying users could still get value from the network. That is the price and feature description in Fortune’s October 2026 report, not a guarantee of the current offer or a complete account of what each tier includes.

Fortune also reported company figures for growth and monetization. They should be read as claims conveyed by the company through the publication, rather than independently audited results.

  • It reported more than 600,000 downloads at the time of Fortune’s story.
  • Dosapati said the company found that roughly 1,000 users in a city could generate substantial word-of-mouth growth.
  • Fortune reported that users sent nearly 400,000 invitations in 2025.

These measures are not interchangeable: downloads do not establish the number of active users, invitations do not show how many recipients joined, and annual recurring revenue is a company-reported business metric rather than profit. Fortune’s account does not provide an independent usage or retention analysis.

What to know before treating the story as proof of impact

Clockout’s stated proposition is straightforward: help people discover relevant professionals and groups nearby, then give them a route to meet. The fundraising and traction figures indicate what the company and its investors say they have achieved, but the available reporting does not provide a feature-by-feature independent product review or evidence that using Clockout changes users’ loneliness, health or career outcomes.
