MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9600 Pro and the Dimensity 9600M for India. Its first announcement says phones powered by the two chipsets are expected to launch in the quarter of the announcement; reports identify possible OPPO and vivo models, but MediaTek has not officially named those phones. The published specifications are for the chipsets, not independent tests of finished phones, and the reviewed coverage does not establish handset prices or exact India sale dates.
What MediaTek announced and when
MediaTek’s announcement, dated September 15, 2026, introduced the Dimensity 9600 Pro and added the Dimensity 9600M as an upcoming chipset. The company said the first phones using the two chips were expected to launch in that quarter. Read MediaTek’s announcement and product information.

These are chipset capabilities, not a promise that every phone maker will include every supported feature. A phone’s camera hardware, cooling, memory configuration, software, and regional design can affect what users actually get.
How to read MediaTek’s performance figures
MediaTek’s product page compares the Pro with an unnamed prior generation and claims 17% faster, 37% more power-efficient CPU single-core performance and 15% faster, 61% more power-efficient CPU multi-core performance. These are company-published comparisons, not independent measurements of retail phones. No independent device testing of phones using these chipsets is established in the reviewed coverage.

- DISPLAY: Immersive viewing on a 6.7-inch super-bright 120Hz display with powerful stereo speakers and Bass Boost for cinematic entertainment.
- CAMERA SYSTEM: Advanced 50MP Quad Pixel camera captures sharp, detailed photos and videos in any lighting condition
- PERFORMANCE: Lightning-fast 5G connectivity paired with a powerful processor and RAM Boost for smooth multitasking.
- BATTERY LIFE: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery with TurboPower charging technology delivers hours of power in minutes.
That distinction matters: a chipset specification can indicate what a manufacturer may build around, but it cannot by itself establish sustained speed, heat, battery life, gaming performance, or camera quality in a particular handset.

The evidence reviewed here does not provide independent measurements across those areas.
