Use Credits for eligible Mech and Weapon level upgrades and purchases priced in Credits. Save A-Coins for rank upgrades and purchases that require them. For gear available in either currency, check the current in-game price: the choice varies by item, and official sources do not establish a universal best-value spending order.
Credits vs. A-Coins at a glance
| Currency | Documented uses | Where Plarium says you can earn it | Practical role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Credits | Buy Mechs, Weapons, and Pilots; upgrade Mech and Weapon levels; get Blueprints and buy Implants in the Shop; open Event Crates. | Daily Login Program, Progress Path, Tournaments, Crates, Daily and Weekly Objectives, Shop using A-Coins, Fortune Vaults, event milestones, Achievements, Referral Program, fallback use while upgrading with A-Coins when short, and sponsored videos. | Use for eligible level upgrades and purchases priced in Credits. |
| A-Coins | Buy Mechs, Weapons, and Pilots; upgrade Mech and Weapon ranks; buy Credits, Crates, Combat Point Boosters, and Blueprints in the Shop; cover missing Blueprints or Credits during Mech and Weapon upgrades; level Pilots when short of XP; buy Implants or refresh the Implant List; open Event Crates; change a nickname. | Shop, Progress Path, Tournaments, Crates, Fortune Vaults, Daily and Weekly Objectives, event milestones, Battle Pass, Referral Program, and Achievements. | Reserve for intended purchases or rank upgrades that require A-Coins; treat buying Credits with them as a convenience, not an established best-value exchange. |
These uses are listed in Plarium Support’s Game Currencies article, updated April 1, 2026. The clearest distinction is that Credits are listed for Mech and Weapon level upgrades, while A-Coins are listed for rank upgrades.

What to spend Credits on
Mech and Weapon level upgrades
When upgrading a Mech or Weapon’s level, start by checking whether you have enough Credits and the required Blueprints. Plarium lists Credits as the level-up currency; its support article also says A-Coins can cover missing Blueprints or Credits in specified upgrade circumstances. Check the cost shown for the exact item before confirming.

Credit-priced gear and Shop items
Credits can also buy Mechs, Weapons, Pilots, Blueprints in the Shop, Implants in the Shop, and Event Crates. Spend them on items you intend to use rather than assuming every listed option is equally useful for your hangar or upgrade plans.

What to spend A-Coins on
Mech and Weapon rank upgrades
Plarium lists A-Coins for upgrading Mech and Weapon ranks. Before committing, check the specific rank-up cost and whether the item fits the build you want to develop.
Purchases and other A-Coin uses
A-Coins can buy Mechs, Weapons, and Pilots, along with Shop items such as Crates, Combat Point Boosters, Blueprints, and Implants. They can also refresh the Implant List, open Event Crates, change a nickname, and help cover certain missing resources during upgrades. Those are documented options, not a recommendation to use A-Coins for every one of them.

When gear can be bought with either currency
Plarium’s Gear Hub announcement, posted August 31, 2023, says that each Tier contains Mechs and Weapons acquirable with Credits, A-Coins, or through in-app purchases. That describes the system at launch, not a guarantee that every current item offers all those payment choices.
The announcement described eight Tiers, unlocked in sequence, and said 12 Mechs and 38 Weapons were available for Credits or A-Coins when the Gear Hub launched. Those counts are historical launch figures, not today’s inventory. Check the current Gear Hub for an item’s availability and displayed price.

Should you spend A-Coins on Credits?
Plarium lists Credits as available in the Shop using A-Coins and notes that A-Coins may be used when you lack Credits during upgrades. The reviewed support information gives no exchange rate or general value ranking, so buying Credits is best treated as a convenience choice: compare the displayed cost with what else you might use those A-Coins for, and decide whether the immediate upgrade or purchase is worth it to you.
A practical spending check
- For a level upgrade: check the Credit and Blueprint requirements for the specific Mech or Weapon.
- For a rank upgrade: check the A-Coin cost and prioritize gear that supports your intended hangar.
- For a purchase: compare the currencies actually offered for that item in the current Gear Hub, Shop, or event.
- Before converting by spending A-Coins on Credits: review the displayed cost and consider the other A-Coin uses you would give up.
This is a decision framework based on Plarium’s documented currency uses, not a publisher-endorsed optimal strategy. The best choice depends on your account, current inventory, plans, and the prices shown in game.
