State-level enforcement signals
Two recent state actions show that scrutiny is real, but neither one decides Me v. U’s status anywhere.
Louisiana
The Louisiana Attorney General’s office, under Attorney General Liz Murrill, warned residents about online casino-style games and sweepstakes or social casino sites. The warning states that some of these may involve dual currencies or prizes and may be unauthorized under Louisiana law. It is a Louisiana position, not a nationwide legal determination. Tennessee
On December 29, 2025, the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office announced a crackdown on illegal online sweepstakes casino operators. This shows enforcement activity in Tennessee. What an industry SEC filing does and does not show
A 2026 annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by a social casino company discusses legal proceedings and regulatory risk, including state gambling and consumer-protection claims. The filing describes that company’s own exposure, and it shows that legal uncertainty runs through the category. It does not show that Me v. U is a party to any proceeding.
