The Maxi-Cosi Zelia 017815 is a travel-system stroller, but the independent review evidence for this exact model is dated: CHOICE lists it as tested in 2019. Its published specifications describe a 10.8 kg stroller with a 17 kg maximum recommended child weight and a 3 kg basket capacity. Those figures apply to the 017815 reviewed by CHOICE—not automatically to later Zelia models or regional variants.
What does the 2019 Zelia 017815 review establish?
CHOICE identifies the reviewed stroller as the Maxi-Cosi Zelia 017815 and gives 2019 as its test year. Its public page lists specifications and a historical price, but detailed test results are members-only. The public information therefore does not establish a score, a full pass/fail result, or how the stroller performed against competitors.

“Zelia” is used for more than one generation and regional configuration. Do not treat specifications from a newer product page as updates to the CHOICE-tested 017815 unless the exact model and market match.

| Detail | CHOICE Zelia 017815 | Maxi-Cosi Australia Zelia Urban page |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | 10.8 kg | 9.6 kg, according to the manufacturer |
| Child suitability | Maximum recommended child weight 17 kg; newborn suitability field listed | Manufacturer says newborn to about 20 kg/about four years |
| Configuration and car seat | CHOICE listing describes the reviewed model; see the matching manual for configuration details | Manufacturer describes seat-to-bassinet conversion and car-seat attachment; car seat sold separately |
| Model qualification | 017815; tested in 2019 | Product page says “Overseas model shown” |
The newer figures are claims for the Zelia Urban page, not a retest of the 017815. Check the exact item number, country of sale, and product label before comparing weight limits or dimensions. The Maxi-Cosi Australia Zelia Urban page identifies the regional-model caveat and says the car seat is sold separately.
What should you verify before buying?
- Exact generation and item number: confirm the product name and model code on the stroller and its documentation. Similar names do not prove parts or instructions are interchangeable.
- Folded size and weight: the CHOICE dimensions are unfolded measurements. Do not use them to infer folded dimensions; check the exact model’s manual if boot, storage, or lifting clearance matters.
- Included equipment: inspect the package list for your market. A car seat may be sold separately, and accessory inclusion can differ among regional packages.
- Local instructions and support: use the manual matching the precise stroller and market rather than assuming a legacy guide covers a newer variant.
- Availability and price: the $699 shown by CHOICE is a historical listing, not confirmation of a current price or that this exact model remains on sale.
How do car-seat compatibility and lie-flat use work?
The legacy Zelia is described as a travel-system stroller. Maxi-Cosi’s Ireland support information says a compatible Maxi-Cosi car seat attaches with adapters; compatibility is therefore not something to assume from the brand name alone. Confirm the exact stroller generation, car-seat model, and adapter with the manufacturer or local retailer before buying. The manufacturer’s legacy guidance is at Maxi-Cosi Ireland’s Zelia support page.

That same regional FAQ gives specific restrictions for the legacy model: do not carry the lie-flat seat by its bumper bar as though it were a carrycot, and do not use the Baby Cocoon in the lie-flat seat. It also says to fold the stroller with the seat facing the road and gives bassinet-mode use up to eight months. These are instructions for the legacy product addressed by that page; follow the manual for the exact stroller in hand and its local configuration.

Maxi-Cosi’s official 2017 Zelia user manual covers assembly, folding and unfolding, securing a child, accessories, travel-system use, and washing. Match the manual to the model code on the stroller. The manufacturer’s US Consumer Care support index, for example, names a guide for Zelia Stroller Travel System item TR389 effective 2018-01-03; that code is not evidence that TR389 and 017815 are the same configuration.

The sources cited here do not establish recall status across all Zelia models and regions. Check the relevant manufacturer support channel and the applicable product-safety authority for the country where the stroller is used; do not interpret the absence of a recall notice in these sources as confirmation that every variant is recall-free.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Maxi-Cosi Zelia 017815 a good choice?
The evidence supports a cautious, model-specific conclusion: CHOICE provides a useful set of specifications for the 017815 and dates its test to 2019, but the publicly available page does not reveal a score or detailed test outcomes. It is most useful to buyers who can confirm they are considering that exact model and can obtain its matching manual. If a seller is offering a newer Zelia, assess that item on its own specifications and package contents rather than borrowing the 017815 figures.
