A Call of Duty Competitive subreddit thread dated October 7, 2026, reports that caster Clint “Maven” Evans is stepping away from Call of Duty League (CDL) casting and discusses a relationship disclosure involving Joseph “MerK” DeLuca’s former wife. The report has not been independently confirmed in the available sources, and the thread does not establish when the relationship began or what MerK has said. Treat both claims as attributed to the community thread, not as confirmed facts.
What is known about Maven’s reported departure
The October 7 community thread is the available source reporting that Maven is stepping away from CDL casting. The original post or statement was not independently retrieved, and the reviewed sources did not include confirmation from the league. The official CDL website identifies a 2026 season, but that does not confirm a departure.

Accordingly, it is more accurate to say Maven’s departure is being reported by a community thread than to state that he has quit the league as an established fact. Comments in the thread are reactions, not separate confirmation.
What is reported about MerK’s former wife—and what is not established
The same thread discusses a relationship disclosure involving MerK’s former wife. The available material does not establish when the relationship began in relation to any separation or divorce, and it does not establish MerK’s response. It therefore does not support claims that an affair occurred or any particular timeline.

Readers asking whether the relationship began before or after a divorce are raising an unanswered question; the thread alone cannot settle it. No direct quotation from Maven or MerK’s original statement was available to verify.
Why Maven and MerK are associated professionally
Maven and MerK have worked as prominent CDL casting figures. In an interview published August 4, 2026, Dot Esports spoke with both during CDL Championship 2026 about their broadcast work. Earlier, Monster Energy published a MerK and Maven discussion of CDL Major One on February 27, 2026. These reports establish their public professional association earlier in the year, not the details behind the current personal claim.

What would confirm the claims
The available sources support the professional context and the existence of a community report, but not independent confirmation of the departure or a verified relationship timeline. An original statement from Maven, an official league announcement, or reliable independent reporting would be needed to establish those details. Until then, the distinction between what the thread reports and what has been confirmed matters.
