The Masport President 3500 AL Combo is listed by CHOICE as a 45 cm push mower with an alloy body, catcher and mulching capability, and a Briggs & Stratton motor. CHOICE tested it in 2022, but the accessible listing does not show its expert rating or detailed test scores. That means the published specifications can help you judge fit, but they are not enough to call it a performance winner.
What mower is the Masport President 3500 AL Combo?
CHOICE identifies the President 3500 AL Combo as a push lawnmower with catcher/mulcher cutting. Its listing specifies an alloy body and a Briggs & Stratton motor. These details apply to the exact model name in the CHOICE listing; similarly named President 3500 variants should not be assumed to share every specification.

What the CHOICE review establishes—and what it doesn’t
CHOICE confirms that it tested the mower in 2022. Its accessible page does not reveal the expert rating, pros and cons, or detailed results for catcher and mulching performance, ease of use, vibration, pushing, controls, starting, noise, or edge cutting. Without those results, it is not possible to infer how well this model performs in those areas or how it compares with other tested mowers.

Don’t confuse the AL Combo with the AL S18 2’n1
Masport’s brochure describes a President 3500 AL S18 2’n1, model 578708, as a 460 mm aluminium mower with a 175cc Briggs & Stratton 800EXi ReadyStart four-stroke engine. That is a separately named variant. Its engine capacity and cutting width should not be attributed to the CHOICE-listed AL Combo unless the mower’s model label or documentation confirms the match. See the Masport President AU F19 brochure.
Masport’s President range page describes range-level features, including its Quadcut four-blade disc system and mulch functionality. It is not an exact-model specification sheet for the AL Combo, so those features are not confirmed here for this mower.

What owners say about the wider President 3500 group

That is owner feedback across a group of variants, not a controlled test or an exact-model rating for the AL Combo. The visible entries include models such as the 3500 ST S19 Combo, 3500 SL19, and 3500 SL18 3’n1.

Experiences in that group vary: one owner of a 3500 ST S19 Combo described it as easy to start and solid, while another reported issues with catcher filling, vibration, and starting. These are individual accounts about a different identified variant, not established findings about the AL Combo. The President 3500 owner-review page is useful as context, not a substitute for model-specific testing.

Price, warranty, and availability
CHOICE’s listing shows $799.00 and reports warranty periods of 5 years for the engine, 2 years for the mower, and 10 years for the housing. The listing does not establish a current selling price or confirm that those warranty terms apply to a mower bought today. Check the seller’s current terms and the warranty documents for the particular unit.
The available exact-model information does not establish whether the President 3500 AL Combo is still available new. A ProductReview user’s statement that a 3500 ST S19 Combo was discontinued concerns another variant and does not settle the AL Combo’s status. Confirm the exact model name and condition with a Masport dealer or seller before buying.

How to assess a used or remaining-stock mower
Because current stock and exact-model engine details are unconfirmed, use the mower’s identification label and paperwork rather than relying on a similar model name. Before committing, check:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- That the label identifies the mower as the President 3500 AL Combo, not an ST, SL, or S18 variant.
- The engine model and capacity on the engine label or matching manual.
- Whether the catcher and mulching components are included and in serviceable condition.
- The asking price, warranty coverage, and whether the unit is new, used, or remaining stock.
- That any replacement part is confirmed for the exact model; compatibility should not be inferred from newer or differently named President mowers.
For a comparison with another mower, use verifiable details such as push versus self-propelled drive, deck material, width, weight, height range and settings, cutting modes, exact engine, and current price and warranty. CHOICE’s comparison results are also member-only, so the accessible pages do not support naming a comparative winner.
