Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham has an MCL sprain and an ankle sprain, and the team says it will evaluate his return week to week. Graham was injured in Cleveland’s Week 4 game against Pittsburgh on October 1, 2026, and was ruled out for the rest of the game. The Browns later reported that an MRI showed an MCL sprain and an ankle sprain. The team’s injury update says medical staff will assess his return week to week.
Why was Graham using crutches?
After the game, Graham was reported leaving the Cleveland locker room on crutches with a brace on his left knee. CBS Sports relayed the observation, crediting Akron Beacon Journal reporter Chris Easterling. That describes how Graham left the stadium; crutches and a brace do not establish the injury’s grade or recovery timetable.
How long will Mason Graham be out?
The Browns have not given a specific return date in the cited reporting. “Week to week” means the team plans to reassess his status rather than confirm a fixed absence. It does not establish how many games he will miss or whether he will be available for the next game.

At an October 2 media availability, head coach Todd Monken said he did not have an update when asked about Graham’s knee: “I do not.” The Browns subsequently published the MRI diagnosis and evaluation plan. Check the team’s latest injury or practice report for a game-specific availability update.
Graham’s production before the injury
In its October 2, 2026 update, the Browns said Graham had four sacks, 15 tackles, six tackles for loss and five quarterback hits through the first four weeks of the season. The team said his four sacks led Cleveland and were tied for third in the league at the time of publication; that ranking is not a current-season ranking.
