Wolverine is a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure focused on Logan’s claw combat, stealth and heightened senses. It launched on September 15, 2026, and PlayStation currently lists it only for PS5 and PS5 Pro. Spider-Man 2 is a single-player open-city adventure in which you switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales; its PC edition launched on January 30, 2025 for Steam and the Epic Games Store.
That makes the PC comparison deliberately uneven: Spider-Man 2 has a documented PC feature set, while Wolverine has no announced PC edition or PC specifications on its current official platform page.

The table shows why there is no meaningful “which PC port is better?” contest yet. Spider-Man 2 can be configured for a range of computer hardware; Wolverine is presently a console-only product in PlayStation’s published information.
Where and when you can play each game
Marvel’s Wolverine: PS5 and PS5 Pro only at present
PlayStation’s US FAQ identifies Wolverine as a PS5 game and says it is playable on PS5 and PS5 Pro. It is not available on PS4. The same page records the worldwide launch date as September 15, 2026. No PC edition, Steam listing, Epic Games Store listing or PC release date appears on that official page.

Those statements describe the current platform listing, not a promise that the game can never appear elsewhere. There is simply no confirmed PC support to plan around. If you are choosing hardware specifically for Wolverine, a PS5-family console is the platform named by the publisher.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: PS5 plus a released PC edition
Spider-Man 2 first launched on PS5 on October 20, 2023. The PC edition arrived on January 30, 2025, through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Nixxes worked with Insomniac on the PC optimization, and the PC release adds keyboard-and-mouse controls, expanded display settings and graphics features that are not part of the fixed-console presentation.
A PS5 or PS5 Pro is therefore the direct route to Wolverine, while Spider-Man 2 can be played either on PlayStation 5 or on a compatible Windows PC. The two games are not currently equivalent platform purchases.
How the games are structured
Wolverine is a directed story, not an open-world map
PlayStation describes Wolverine as a “single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game” and explicitly says, “It is not set in an open world.” That distinction matters if you expect a large map filled with optional activities. The game is organized around Logan’s authored journey rather than a free-roaming city sandbox.
The story follows Logan as he searches for answers about his past. Sony’s launch material names Jean Grey, Sabretooth and Bolivar Trask among the characters and identifies the Canadian wilderness, Tokyo and Madripoor as settings. Moving between those locations gives the campaign geographical variety without changing its linear, story-led identity.
Spider-Man 2 is an expansive city adventure with two protagonists
Spider-Man 2 places Peter Parker and Miles Morales in Marvel’s New York. You can switch between them, and each character brings different abilities and story material. The launch presentation specifically highlights the addition of Queens and Brooklyn, alongside the established city areas.

The city supports rapid traversal, fast travel and near-instant character switching. This structure is designed for players who enjoy choosing their route through a broad environment, alternating between main-story missions and activities encountered while moving through New York.

Combat and moment-to-moment play
Wolverine: close-range impact, stealth and sensory awareness
Wolverine’s combat fantasy is physical and immediate. Sony characterizes it as explosive, visceral claw fighting that combines fast melee attacks with stealth and heightened senses. Encounters are therefore built around getting close, reading threats and deciding whether to strike openly or approach from concealment.
Logan’s heightened senses are part of the play loop rather than a decorative story ability: they support awareness of enemies and the environment as you prepare an attack or move through a guarded space. The emphasis is on the feel of one powerful character, not on swapping between a roster of heroes with different move sets.
Spider-Man 2: mobility, aerial combat and complementary heroes
Spider-Man 2’s defining action is movement through the city. Web-swinging and the Web Wings let Peter and Miles cover distance quickly, then turn that momentum into combat positioning. Their distinct abilities give switching a mechanical purpose as well as a narrative one.
The game also presents a broad villain roster, so encounters vary according to the opponent and the hero you are controlling. Sony highlights DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers on PS5, allowing traversal and attacks to communicate through the controller, as well as 3D audio and the console’s high-speed SSD for fast loading and rapid transitions.

Spider-Man 2’s PC features in detail
Ultrawide and multi-monitor support
The PC release supports 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide aspect ratios. It also supports a 48:9 layout for triple-monitor setups. These modes are useful when your display is wider than the 16:9 format used by a conventional television, but the visual result depends on the monitor arrangement and your graphics hardware.

Ray tracing controls
Nixxes documents individual ray-tracing options rather than a single all-or-nothing switch. The listed controls cover reflections, interiors, shadows, ambient occlusion, geometry detail and object-range adjustment. This lets you trade visual fidelity against frame rate more precisely than a console preset allows.
Supported hardware can also use NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Ray Reconstruction is separate from ordinary upscaling: it is intended to improve the appearance of ray-traced effects when the relevant NVIDIA technology and driver support are available.
Upscaling and frame generation
The PC version lists NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1 for upscaling and frame generation, plus Intel XeSS upscaling. Which options appear and how well they work depends on the GPU, processor, driver version, resolution and selected ray-tracing settings. Frame-generation modes can increase displayed frame output, but they do not remove the underlying rendering cost or guarantee the same latency on every system.

Keyboard, mouse and display configuration
In addition to controller play, the PC edition supports keyboard-and-mouse controls. The release was designed for a variety of setups, from standard widescreen monitors to ultrawide and triple-screen configurations. Nixxes’ published recommended requirements were dated to the January 2025 PC launch; they should not be treated as a current benchmark for every later driver, operating-system update or graphics card.
What is officially known about Wolverine on PC?
At the time covered by PlayStation’s current US product information, nothing official establishes a Wolverine PC port, PC minimum requirements, ray-tracing modes, ultrawide support, upscaling technology or a release window for Windows. The defensible answer to “Is Wolverine coming to PC?” is therefore: there is no announced PC version in the cited official information.
Do not read the existence of Spider-Man 2 on PC as evidence of Wolverine’s future platform plans. Sony and Insomniac have not published a comparable PC feature list for Wolverine, so any claim about its eventual settings or performance would be speculation.

Accessibility and control options
Wolverine’s documented options
Insomniac’s support article lists adjustable challenge controls for stealth awareness, enemy health and enemy damage. Players can change dodge and parry input timing, use navigation and traversal assistance, alter the overall game speed or combat speed, and choose among multiple input modes.
These are concrete settings rather than a general quality judgment. They allow players to change timing, encounter pressure and navigation demands, but the support article does not establish that Wolverine includes every accessibility feature found in Spider-Man 2 or in other games.
Spider-Man 2’s documented options
PlayStation lists visual-comfort settings, alternatives for audio and visual cues, screen-reader support, and subtitle and caption controls for Spider-Man 2. Control options are also included. On PS5, the game pairs those software settings with DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers; players who prefer different feedback or input behavior can adjust the relevant console and game controls.
The two games publish their accessibility information in different forms, so avoid treating the lists as a laboratory comparison. Wolverine’s support page is especially specific about timing, challenge and traversal adjustments, while Spider-Man 2’s product information emphasizes screen reading, subtitles, cue alternatives and visual comfort.

Wolverine editions
PlayStation lists Standard and Digital Deluxe editions. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes five exclusive suits, five exclusive claws and three Technique Points, in addition to the preorder incentives described on the product page. These are edition contents; they do not add a separate multiplayer mode or change the game’s single-player structure.

Which game should you choose?
Choose Wolverine if your priority is Logan’s story
- You want a directed, single-player campaign rather than an open-world city.
- You prefer fast melee combat built around claws, stealth and heightened senses.
- You own or plan to buy a PS5 or PS5 Pro and do not need a PC release.
- You value adjustable enemy challenge, dodge/parry timing, navigation assistance and game-speed controls.
Choose Spider-Man 2 if you want a city to traverse
- You want to move through Marvel’s New York using webs, Web Wings and fast travel.
- You want to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales and use their different abilities.
- You need a currently released PC edition with keyboard-and-mouse support, ultrawide ratios or configurable ray tracing.
- You want the accessibility features PlayStation lists, including a screen reader, subtitle controls and visual-comfort options.
Choose based on platform first
Platform availability is the simplest deciding factor. A PC-only player can buy Spider-Man 2 through Steam or the Epic Games Store, but cannot currently buy an officially announced Wolverine PC edition. A PS5 owner can play both, with Wolverine requiring the PS5 family and Spider-Man 2 available on PS5 as well as PC.
Frequently misunderstood points
Is Wolverine an open-world game?
No. PlayStation’s FAQ explicitly says it is not set in an open world. Its campaign visits multiple locations, including the Canadian wilderness, Tokyo and Madripoor, but those locations belong to a narrative-driven structure rather than one continuous open-world map.

Yes. Spider-Man 2 is single-player, and you control both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The game allows switching between them, with different abilities and story elements associated with each hero. It is not a two-player cooperative mode.
Does Wolverine have multiplayer?
The official description identifies Wolverine as single-player. No multiplayer mode is listed in the cited PlayStation information.
Does Spider-Man 2 on PC support ray tracing?
Yes. The PC feature list includes ray-traced reflections, interiors, shadows and ambient occlusion, along with controls for geometry detail and object range. DLSS Ray Reconstruction is available on supported hardware.
Bottom line
Wolverine is the more focused choice: a PS5/PS5 Pro-only, single-player story about Logan, built around visceral claws, stealth and heightened senses rather than open-world exploration. Spider-Man 2 is the broader traversal game and the clear choice for PC players, with Peter-and-Miles switching, an expansive New York and a released PC port offering ultrawide displays, ray-tracing controls and several upscaling or frame-generation technologies.
