Marvel’s Wolverine has reportedly progressed from menus to rendered gameplay in the experimental KytyPS5 emulator, but Tom’s Hardware reported on September 30, 2026, that performance remained in the single digits. That is an emulation milestone—not evidence that the PS5 game is practically playable on a PC.
What the KytyPS5 demonstration shows
Tom’s Hardware reported that a recent KytyPS5 build could render cinematics and gameplay from Marvel’s Wolverine after earlier builds had reached only the game’s menus. The same report described performance as remaining below 10 frames per second. So “reaches gameplay” describes how far the emulator reportedly got in rendering the game. It does not establish smooth performance, reliable operation, or a complete playthrough. Nor does the reported frame rate show what another PC—or a particular processor or graphics card—would achieve.

KytyPS5 describes itself as a free, open-source PS5 emulator written in C++, with Windows and Linux support and experimental macOS support. The project says it is early-stage, warns that compatibility is limited, and cautions users to expect crashes, graphical glitches, and poor performance. - Stable, completable play: neither the demonstration nor the project’s compatibility guidance establishes this for Wolverine.
Emulator behavior can change between builds. KytyPS5’s releases page lists dated builds from September 15–16, 2026, but the reviewed report does not identify which build was used for its demonstration.
How this relates to Ghost of Yōtei
Tom’s Hardware’s emulator report also discusses Ghost of Yōtei as part of KytyPS5 progress. Separately, Sony announced on October 1, 2026, that Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei were the first PS5 games to receive its Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR) option. Wolverine remains a PS5 game
PlayStation lists Marvel’s Wolverine as a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure developed by Insomniac Games with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, with a September 15, 2026 release date.
