The project is not a confirmed PC port, and the reported build has serious visual and stability problems. Tom’s Hardware’s 5 October 2026 report also notes that the screenshots and claims were disputed.
What the reported PC project is—and isn’t
Tom’s Hardware reported that a developer using the Reddit handle u/Clean-Market5761 said they were trying to create an unofficial PC executable for the PS5 game. That makes this an individual experiment, not an announced or supported PC release from Sony or Insomniac. The report does not establish that the build was independently reproduced, and it notes skepticism about whether the screenshots showed the developer’s work or an older leaked build. How the developer reportedly used AI
According to the report, the developer used AI to help create scripts and automate asset conversion, alongside manual trial and error. AI assistance here describes parts of a claimed reverse-engineering and conversion workflow; it does not mean the game was automatically or completely ported. The report does not identify the AI tools or independently verify the process.
Why the reported build looks unfinished
The report describes missing textures, a missing character head, and freezes. The developer reportedly attributed hair-rendering problems to missing PS5 shader support. These are reported defects, not results from an independent test, and they give no basis to treat the executable as a stable way to play the game on PC.

What the 2023 leak has to do with it
Tom’s Hardware connects the effort to the 2023 ransomware attack on Sony and Insomniac, which exposed 1.7 TB of data, including an early version of Wolverine. The report says leaked source code helped the developer understand how to generate a PC executable. It does not independently establish which leaked files the developer used, so the precise provenance of the project’s materials remains unverified. Tom’s Hardware, 5 October 2026.
This is different from PS5 emulation
A PC executable project and a PS5 emulator are distinct approaches. Tom’s Hardware says the developer claimed not to use KytyPS5 or AnyPS5. A separate report described gameplay through KytyPS5 at single-digit frame rates and characterized it as an early compatibility milestone—not a practical substitute for playing the game on a PS5. That emulator report does not show that more powerful PC hardware resolves compatibility limits. Tom’s Hardware, 30 September 2026.
