Sony identifies the game as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and PlayStation’s official FAQ lists only PS5 and PS5 Pro as supported platforms. That means there is no published PC minimum or recommended CPU, graphics card, RAM, storage, or resolution specification to use for a Windows upgrade.
The supported hardware route for the released game is a PS5-family console. Sony says the game uses the console’s DualSense adaptive triggers and haptics, ultra-high-speed SSD, and 3D audio, with enhanced performance and PSSR support on PS5 Pro. Those are platform features, not a PC benchmark or a promise of a particular frame rate or resolution.

Why a PC-specification list does not exist
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s September 15, 2026 launch announcement describes Marvel’s Wolverine as developed exclusively for PlayStation 5. The PlayStation US game page and its FAQ likewise name PS5 and PS5 Pro as the only playable platforms. The PlayStation Store listing accessed October 13, 2026 identifies the product as a PS5 game.

Because the released product is console-only in these official sources, Sony has not had to define a Windows operating-system version, DirectX feature level, PC processor tier, desktop GPU, memory target, or installation requirement. A console’s fixed hardware cannot be translated into an equivalent PC parts list without a PC build, a renderer, and performance targets. For example, a PS5 CPU or GPU is not a direct instruction to buy a particular desktop processor or graphics card.
This is a platform limitation, not evidence that a particular PC is too slow. A powerful gaming computer still has no supported way to run the released version shown in Sony’s materials. Conversely, buying PC components based on an unofficial “minimum spec” could leave you with hardware for a game that has not been announced for that platform.
What hardware you actually need to play
PS5: the standard supported route
A PlayStation 5 is an officially supported platform. Sony’s descriptions tie the game to PS5 hardware, including DualSense controller features, the console’s ultra-high-speed SSD, and 3D audio. The sources do not provide a numerical frame-rate or resolution target, so “smooth” should not be read as a quantified guarantee.

PS5 Pro is also officially supported. PlayStation describes enhanced performance on this model and specifies the use of PSSR, Sony’s machine-learning-based image reconstruction technology. The cited pages do not establish a particular frame rate, output resolution, visual preset, or price difference between PS5 and PS5 Pro. Choose PS5 Pro for the enhancement Sony states, not for an invented benchmark.
| Platform | Support status | Officially stated distinction | What Sony does not quantify in the cited sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Supported and listed as an exclusive platform | Uses PS5 hardware features such as DualSense, SSD loading, and 3D audio | Frame rate, resolution, graphics presets, and comparative performance figures |
| PS5 Pro | Supported and listed as an exclusive platform | Enhanced performance; PSSR is specified for this model | Exact frame rate, resolution, image-quality uplift, and price comparison |
| Windows PC | Not listed as a supported platform in the official materials cited | No PC-specific feature set is announced | All PC minimum and recommended specifications |
How Sony’s hardware features affect the experience
DualSense adaptive triggers and haptics
Sony says Marvel’s Wolverine takes advantage of DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. These features can vary trigger resistance and provide controller vibration effects that communicate actions and impacts. They describe the intended PS5 controller experience; they do not tell you which PC controller, USB connection, or graphics setting would reproduce it.

Ultra-high-speed SSD loading
The launch material identifies the PS5’s ultra-high-speed SSD as part of the game’s design. This is a console-platform feature. Sony does not publish a PC storage type, minimum free-space figure, or installation size in the cited sources, so do not turn the SSD reference into an invented number of gigabytes or a PC purchase requirement.
3D audio
3D audio is another feature Sony lists for the PS5 experience. It concerns spatial sound presentation through compatible audio equipment and console software. The announcement does not define a PC audio card, headset specification, or operating-system setting for the game.
PS5 Pro performance and PSSR
PS5 Pro is described as delivering enhanced performance, with PSSR support called out by PlayStation. “Enhanced” is the complete official qualification available here. It should not be rewritten as a claim that the game runs at a specific number of frames per second or a particular resolution.
What to buy for the supported setup
- Select a PS5 or PS5 Pro. These are the two platforms named in PlayStation’s FAQ. Use the standard PS5 when you want the ordinary supported console path; consider PS5 Pro when Sony’s stated enhanced-performance and PSSR features matter to you.
- Obtain the PS5 edition of Marvel’s Wolverine. The PlayStation Store listing identifies the game as a PS5 product and gives the September 15, 2026 release date.
- Use a DualSense controller. It is the controller associated with the adaptive-trigger and haptic features Sony highlights. A controller is part of the intended experience, but the cited sources do not establish that an additional controller is required beyond the console’s normal setup.
- Plan your display and audio around your existing equipment. Sony’s cited information does not require a particular television, monitor, headset, or sound system. 3D audio and visual output depend on the equipment and settings you use, but no exact display target is published in these sources.
- Check the live PlayStation listing before buying. Edition contents, bundles, accessories, and promotional offers can change. The official pages are the appropriate place to confirm what is currently sold in your region.
Standard and Digital Deluxe editions
PlayStation lists Standard and Digital Deluxe editions. The official page says the Digital Deluxe Edition includes exclusive suits, claws, technique points, and pre-order incentives. Pre-order benefits and other promotional contents can expire, so verify the current listing rather than assuming every launch offer remains active.
Edition choice changes the software contents, not the platform requirement. Both editions are presented for PS5; neither creates a Windows version or changes the need for a supported PlayStation console.

Optional Wolverine-themed hardware and accessories
PlayStation’s materials also list Wolverine-themed PS5 bundles, console covers, and controllers. These products may be relevant if you want a themed setup, but they are optional. The console itself is the direct hardware requirement; a special cover, limited controller, or bundle is not required to run the game.
The cited pages establish these product categories, not live retailer inventory, regional pricing, Amazon availability, or any external purchasing program. Check the official PlayStation store and authorized retailers for current stock and terms.
Why you should not convert PS5 hardware into a guessed PC build
- Console components are not interchangeable PC parts. A fixed console architecture does not map one-to-one to a desktop CPU or GPU model.
- No PC workload has been published. Without a Windows build, there is no verified shader compilation behavior, graphics API requirement, texture-memory target, or CPU-thread recommendation.
- “Smooth” has no official numeric definition here. Sony’s wording supports the PS5 Pro enhancement claim only; it does not establish a frame-rate mode, resolution mode, or benchmark result.
- Storage capacity is unknown from these sources. The PS5 SSD is mentioned qualitatively, but Sony does not provide an installation-size figure in the cited material.
- Unofficial lists cannot establish support. A forum post or retailer article may estimate requirements, but it cannot turn an unannounced PC edition into an officially supported product.
How to handle common platform confusion
“I have a high-end gaming PC. Can I install it?”
Not according to the official platform information available as of October 13, 2026. The game is listed as a PS5 exclusive, and no PC edition or PC requirements list is provided. PC performance cannot be evaluated for a product Sony has not listed for Windows.
“Can I use PS5 specifications to choose a graphics card?”
No reliable conversion is established. Console and PC hardware, drivers, operating systems, and game builds differ. Buying a GPU or CPU from a speculative equivalence chart would be an unsupported estimate.
“Does PS5 Pro guarantee 4K or 60 frames per second?”
The cited official sources do not say that. They state enhanced performance and PSSR support on PS5 Pro, without a quantified resolution or frame-rate promise.

“Do I need a special SSD, headset, or Wolverine controller?”
The official feature list mentions the PS5 ultra-high-speed SSD, 3D audio, and DualSense functionality as parts of the experience. It does not publish a separate accessory requirement, exact storage amount, or mandatory headset specification. Wolverine-themed accessories are optional.
Which official information to monitor
For a future platform change, look for a dated announcement from Sony Interactive Entertainment or an updated PlayStation product page that explicitly names PC, provides a store listing for Windows, and publishes minimum and recommended specifications. Until such information appears, the accurate answer remains console-only support through PS5 and PS5 Pro.
The relevant official records are Sony Interactive Entertainment’s launch announcement dated September 15, 2026; the PlayStation US “Marvel’s Wolverine – PS5 Games” page and FAQ accessed October 13, 2026; Sony Group’s overview dated September 18, 2026; and the PlayStation Store listing accessed October 13, 2026. Together, they establish the release date, PS5 exclusivity, editions, and qualitative hardware features, but no PC specification table.
Bottom line
Marvel’s Wolverine does not have official PC requirements because Sony released it as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. To play the released game, use a PS5 or PS5 Pro. PS5 Pro is the model Sony identifies with enhanced performance and PSSR, while DualSense features, ultra-high-speed SSD loading, and 3D audio describe the PS5-family experience. No CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, resolution, or frame-rate figures should be invented for PC.
