The Year One names reported so far are Phoenix Cyclops, Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor and Jubilee. Only Cyclops has an announced date in the official release material; no official order or dates have been published for the other three.
This distinction matters because the order in which names appear in coverage is not a release schedule. Here is what the announced pass contains, what each character’s status is, how the launch and DLC timeline fits together, and which details remain genuinely unknown.

What the Marvel Tōkon DLC roadmap confirms
The clearest official announcement is the PlayStation Blog post by Takeshi Yamanaka, producer at Arc System Works. It confirms that Phoenix Cyclops joins the game on November 2, 2026, and that his Classic and Legacy costumes arrive the same day. The announcement identifies him as the first Year 1 character, not merely the first character shown in a trailer.

GamesRadar reported the four-name Year One lineup on October 11, 2026: Phoenix Cyclops, Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor and Jubilee. That report followed the official Cyclops reveal, but it does not establish a launch sequence for the remaining characters. The official material reviewed to date gives no month, day or cadence for Venom, Thor or Jubilee.

|---|---|---|

| Additional pass bonus | Battle-result poses for the 20 base-roster characters | Any bonuses beyond the announced scope |
The October 7 PlayStation announcement is the primary source for Cyclops’s date. The four-name lineup comes from GamesRadar’s October 11 report; treat its order as a list of characters, not a schedule.
Year One characters: status and known details
Phoenix Cyclops — November 2, 2026
Phoenix Cyclops is the only DLC fighter with a firm public release date. The team selected a Phoenix version to present Cyclops differently from his established fighting-game history. The official description calls him an all-rounder who combines ranged Optic Blasts with close-range attacks, while Phoenix Force attacks help him control space.
His announced resource system gives the character a distinct match flow. Using Optic Blast builds Solar Shards. At four shards, Cyclops can trigger a Dark Phoenix transformation that temporarily increases his power, but the transformation carries a health-depletion risk. That trade-off means the reveal describes a character built around managing both screen space and a dangerous power window, rather than a simple long-range zoning specialist.
Classic and Legacy costumes are scheduled for the same November 2 release. The announcement does not state whether either costume is included in every edition, sold separately, or tied to a particular pre-order, so check the current platform listing before assuming an entitlement.

Venom — date and order TBA
Venom is one of the three additional names reported for Year One. No official date, month or position in the post-Cyclops sequence has been announced in the cited material. Descriptions of his move set, assist properties, stage interaction or costumes should therefore be treated as speculation until an official character post supplies them.
Jane Foster’s Thor — date and order TBA
Jane Foster’s Thor is also listed in the reported Year One lineup. The available official release post does not say when she arrives or whether she follows Venom, Jubilee or another character. The name identifies the version of Thor, but the sources do not yet provide confirmed gameplay mechanics or release incentives.
Jubilee — date and order TBA
Jubilee completes the reported four-character list. Her inclusion is established by the secondary report, while her release date, order, move set and cosmetic details remain unannounced in the official source covering the first release. Do not infer that she is the final character merely because she appears last in a list.
Why there is no complete release order yet
A roadmap normally implies dates or at least a sequence. In this case, the evidence supports only one dated milestone: Cyclops on November 2, 2026. The remaining names can be called the Year One lineup, but assigning them quarters, months or a “second, third and fourth” position would go beyond the announcements.

- American football simulation game brings all the intensity and realism of NFL players, drafts, and strategies to your console - Game modes include Superstar: The League, Superstar: Showdown, Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and Cross-play for endless variation.
- Anatomically accurate player skeletons are more responsive, achieving true-to-life player motion during gameplay - Field SENSE animation technology provides greater control, realism, and immersive Ness when performing complex maneuvers.
- AI enhanced movement makes it easier for your team to execute your gameplan with ball carrier pathfinding and QB and DB awareness.
- Skill-based Passing 2.0 has improved accuracy, DB behavior, and catching for more intuitive throwing and defensive actions.
- Hit Everything 2.0 gives your teammates greater situational awareness, allowing them to push the pile and gain ground to attack the football more effectively.
The producer has described post-launch support in broad terms, writing that the team plans “a variety of updates, including new characters, new stages, and more.” That is a commitment to continued content, not a calendar. It does not establish whether characters will arrive monthly, quarterly, in a single batch, or on another timetable.
When a new announcement appears, distinguish three separate facts:
- Lineup: whether a character is part of the announced Year One content.
- Order: whether the publisher explicitly says that character is next or assigns a position.
- Date: the day the character becomes playable on a specified platform or edition.
Only the lineup is known for Venom, Thor and Jubilee. Their order and dates should remain marked “TBA” until an official source changes that.
What the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass includes
The official FAQ describes the pass as covering the first four additional DLC characters and one additional stage. It also lists battle-result poses for the 20 base-roster characters. “First four” refers to the four characters in the pass scope; it does not publish a date for each one.
Rank #4
| Pass component | Confirmed scope | Availability detail |
|---|---|---|
| DLC fighters | Four additional playable characters | Each becomes available when its own release occurs; only Cyclops is dated so far |
| Stage | One additional stage | Included in the pass scope; a separate public launch date is not stated |
| Result poses | Poses for all 20 base-roster characters | Listed by the official FAQ as a pass benefit |
Read the entitlement language carefully. A pass is a content bundle, not proof that every item launches on November 2. Cyclops has a date; the other pass items can arrive later unless a future announcement specifies otherwise.
The complete wording is in the official MARVEL Tōkon FAQ, updated August 18, 2026. Store pages can change their labels, so use the FAQ together with the edition description shown for your region.

Should you buy the pass or wait?
The pass is easier to justify when
- You already intend to play on PS5 or PC and want all four announced Year One characters rather than selecting fighters individually.
- The one additional stage and the 20 base-roster battle-result poses matter to your use of the game.
- You are buying Digital Deluxe and the current store page clearly lists the pass as included.
Waiting is reasonable when
- You are interested mainly in Venom, Thor or Jubilee and want to see their mechanics before paying for a bundle.
- You need a firm content schedule. At present, only Cyclops has a dated release.
- You are choosing a physical PS5 copy and cannot confirm whether its package includes the pass entitlement.
The available information does not establish separate character prices, a la carte purchasing, regional discounts or a pass expiration date. Those are store-policy questions, not facts that can be inferred from the roadmap.
How to track future announcements without mistaking speculation for news
- Start with the official character post. Look for a PlayStation Blog or publisher announcement that names a fighter and gives a date. A trailer title alone may reveal a character without confirming launch timing.
- Check the wording around order. “Next,” “second,” or a numbered release is evidence of sequence. A list of names is not.
- Confirm platform and edition language. A date may apply to PS5 and PC together, or a bonus may be restricted to one edition. Keep those qualifications attached to the claim.
- Recheck the support FAQ. The FAQ can clarify pass scope and entitlement details, while a character announcement supplies the individual release date.
- Use TBA for missing facts. Do not convert fan calendars, retailer placeholders or the order of names in an article into an official roadmap.
What players can expect from the first update
The November 2 update has two clearly identified pieces: Phoenix Cyclops as a playable fighter and his Classic and Legacy costumes. His Solar Shard and Dark Phoenix systems give players an immediate reason to learn a new resource loop rather than treating the update as a simple roster swap.
The broader support plan promises additional characters and stages, but it does not promise a fixed interval between releases. Competitive players should prepare for balance changes or system notes to be published separately from character announcements; none of the cited material specifies the size or timing of those changes.

As of the latest cited announcements, the reliable roadmap is short but useful: the game launches August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC; Phoenix Cyclops is the first Year 1 DLC character on November 2; Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor and Jubilee are the other reported Year One names; and the pass covers four characters, one stage and 20 base-roster result-poses benefits. Any complete release order or calendar beyond Cyclops is still unannounced, so treat future dates as official only when PlayStation, Arc System Works or the support documentation publishes them.
