Treat this as a dated third-party guide, not a confirmed ranking for the latest build or a universal verdict across game modes.
How to read this Marvel Future Fight tier list
Pocket Gamer organizes characters by their in-game class—Combat, Blast, Speed and Universal—and then assigns S, A+, A or B tiers within each class. It is not one ranking that compares every character against every other character. An S-tier Combat character and an S-tier Universal character are therefore not evidence that one is stronger overall than the other.

The list covers a roster Pocket Gamer describes as almost 250 heroes and villains; that is an approximation from the publisher, not an exact official count. Apple’s store description instead says the game has more than 200 playable Marvel heroes and villains. Those descriptions use different levels of precision and should not be treated as a single agreed roster total. Pocket Gamer’s tier list and the Apple App Store listing provide those respective descriptions.

These placements reflect the page’s editorial assessment, and its author notes that team synergy can affect rankings. Pocket Gamer also warns that later updates may change the meta. The list does not provide quantified win rates or controlled performance results for every character and mode.
Important version-date mismatch
Pocket Gamer labels its list version 12.1.1 and dates it September 2, 2026. However, the Apple App Store listing records version 12.2.0 on September 1, 2026, and Google Play’s current update text also describes additions associated with 12.2.0. The list includes Annihilus and Galactus, but that does not establish that every placement was reassessed for 12.2.0. It would be misleading to call the page a verified 12.2.0 balance ranking.

According to the official store update information, 12.2.0 adds Annihilus and Galactus; gives Tier-4 advancements to Annihilus, Galactus and Drax; adds Annihilation uniforms for Thanos and Drax; and introduces a Mythic Annihilus World Boss. See the Apple App Store listing and Google Play listing. These additions show why version matters, but do not prove that a new character, uniform or advancement is automatically top-tier.
Earlier July 2026 update
Netmarble’s July 30, 2026 announcement introduced Spider-Man, Hulk and Scorpion uniforms inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day and enabled Scorpion’s Tier-4 advancement. That update is earlier than the 12.2.0 information in the storefront listings. The announcement is available from Netmarble’s update notice.

Why a tier placement may not fit your account or mode
A broad class-based list is a starting point, not a guarantee that a character will perform best for your roster. Pocket Gamer says synergy with other meta characters can influence placements. Uniform, advancement level, equipment and build can also matter to a character’s effectiveness, while PvE and PvP are different comparison contexts.
The community-maintained THANO$VIB$ guide separates general PvE and PvP recommendations and notes that PvP characters often depend on an ideal CTP to be effective. This is maintainer guidance, not official testing or a controlled benchmark. - For PvE: compare characters for the specific activity you play rather than assuming a general tier carries over to every PvE mode.
- For PvP: account for the recommended CTP and build; a tier label alone does not describe those requirements.
- For either mode: check the character’s uniform and advancement state, and whether the ranking assumes team synergy you have available.
What “best character” means here
There is no evidence in these sources for a single, mode-independent best character or a complete statistical comparison of the roster. The practical answer is to use the class tier as a shortlist, then narrow it to your mode, build and available team. Because the snapshot’s stated version trails the official 12.2.0 storefront information, verify current character changes before relying on an individual placement.
