Verdict: The Marshall Bromley 150 is a 200W portable party speaker that packs unusually deep, energetic bass, convincing 360-degree coverage, stage-style lighting and a rated 40-hour battery into a 13.9-pound (6.3kg) cube. Its premium construction, replaceable battery and replaceable parts help justify the $499.99 / £399.99 / AU$699 launch price, but the basic app, absent LDAC codec and missing RCA input make it a poor fit for buyers seeking maximum value or advanced control.
What the Marshall Bromley 150 is
The Bromley 150 is the smallest model in Marshall’s Bromley party-speaker line, scheduled for release in October 2026. Its cube-shaped cabinet uses faux leather, gold detailing, physical bass and treble controls, and theatrical LED lighting. A built-in handle makes it practical to carry between rooms, onto a patio or to a small gathering.

At 13.9lb (6.3kg), it is portable within the large party-speaker category rather than genuinely lightweight. The enclosure is rated IP55, protecting against dust and water jets. That rating is suitable for outdoor use in ordinary weather, but it does not provide immersion protection.

Sound quality: bass is the main event
The Bromley 150’s 200W system produces forceful, controlled low end that reaches 42Hz. TechRadar senior reviews writer Harry Padoan described it as “the sort of bass that you feel in your soul.” The speaker delivers that impact without turning the entire presentation into a blur.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
True Stereophonic processing keeps bass and treble present from the sides and rear, so listeners do not need to stand directly in front of the cabinet. Vocals remain clear and the upper treble has enough energy for a party. The compromise is in the midrange: competing speakers at this price can reveal more texture, and guitars may not separate as distinctly.
There is no LDAC codec, so listeners who want a higher-resolution Bluetooth option must use another speaker. For mainstream streaming, Bluetooth 5.3 is still the practical connection.

Inputs and party features
The connection panel is more useful than that of many portable party speakers. You get Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, 3.5mm input and output, plus two XLR/6.35mm combo jacks for microphones or instruments. Those combo inputs make the Bromley 150 suitable for announcements, simple live vocals or an instrument at a gathering.

DJs using a turntable, mixer or controller with RCA output may need an adapter or a different speaker, so check your source hardware before buying.

Auracast supports pairing compatible speakers, while the stage-style LEDs provide the visual centerpiece expected from a party model. The lighting contributes to the speaker’s statement design rather than functioning as a subtle status indicator.
Battery, durability and repairability
Marshall rates the battery for up to 40 hours. Actual runtime depends on volume, lighting and source use, but the rating gives the Bromley 150 an advantage for weekend events and extended outdoor sessions. The battery and multiple other parts are replaceable, a meaningful benefit for long-term ownership compared with sealed designs.

IP55 covers dust and water jets, not submersion. Keep the speaker out of pools, standing water and heavy spray. If maximum weather protection is your priority, an IP68-rated alternative is better suited.

The app is the weak point
The Marshall Bluetooth app handles Auracast setup, lets you assign the physical M-button and provides a power-off timer. It does not offer remote equalizer adjustment, nor does it provide controls for karaoke or instrument effects.

That means frequent sound changes require reaching the speaker and using its physical bass and treble controls. Buyers who expect to tune a speaker from across a room should treat this limitation as a central consideration, not a minor software omission.

The Sony ULT Tower 5 is the value-and-output choice if you can accommodate a substantially larger, heavier cabinet. The JBL Xtreme 5 costs less, weighs less and offers stronger IP68 protection, but gives up battery endurance and connection options. The Bromley 150 occupies the middle ground: more transportable than the tower, more feature-rich for microphones and instruments than the lighter rival, and styled as furniture as much as audio equipment.
Should you buy the Marshall Bromley 150?
Buy it if
- You want powerful, physical bass in a compact party-speaker format.
- You need sound that remains lively around the sides and rear of the cabinet.
- A 40-hour battery rating, built-in handle and replaceable parts matter to you.
- You value premium styling and statement lighting.
- You plan to connect microphones or instruments through XLR/6.35mm combo inputs.
Choose something else if
- You want the most power per dollar and have room for a much larger speaker.
- You need IP68-level ruggedness or protection against immersion.
- You require RCA for a DJ controller, turntable or mixer.
- You expect remote EQ, karaoke effects or instrument effects in the app.
- LDAC or highly detailed midrange reproduction is essential.
At its launch price, the Bromley 150 is buying a particular experience rather than the cheapest wattage: deep bass, 360-degree coverage, premium materials, lighting and long-term replaceability in a manageable cube. That package makes sense for style-conscious hosts and performers who will use the physical inputs. It is harder to justify for buyers focused on raw value, advanced app control or maximum water resistance.
