The Marshall Bromley 150 is best understood as a portable party speaker with some of the practicality of a Bluetooth boombox—not as a compact, carry-everywhere speaker. Marshall pairs a grab handle and battery power with built-in lighting, 360-degree sound positioning and inputs for microphones or instruments. Those features explain the category crossover; they are manufacturer specifications and positioning, not a substitute for independent listening tests.
Is the Bromley 150 a party speaker or a Bluetooth boombox?
It sits between the two categories in its feature set. Like a boombox, it is a self-contained Bluetooth speaker with a handle and a built-in rechargeable battery, so it can be moved without relying on a permanent installation. Unlike a basic portable music box, it adds integrated stage lighting and two combination inputs for a microphone or instrument—features aimed at gatherings and informal performances.

Marshall calls it its “most portable party speaker yet.” That is the company’s positioning, not an independent comparison of portability with other products. Its official announcement describes True Stereophonic 360° sound, speakers facing front and back, and a front panel designed to accommodate lighting. Marshall’s announcement

The speaker measures 290 × 208 × 297 mm and weighs 6.3 kg (13.9 lb), according to Marshall. It has an integrated grab handle, but those dimensions and weight make it a carry-by-hand party speaker rather than a pocketable or especially lightweight option. The replaceable battery means it can operate without mains power; it does not make the cabinet smaller or lighter.
#1 Best Overall
- TRUE STEREOPHONIC 360° SOUND: Drivers on all sides so you can feel the beat no matter where you're standing.
- 40+ HOURS OF PORTABLE PLAYTIME: More than enough for your 800-track setlist.

- DIRT & SPLASH RESISTANT (IP55): Ready for parties indoors and out.
What makes it more than a standard Bluetooth speaker?
Lighting and 360-degree sound design
Marshall lists integrated lighting with three presets and describes the speaker’s sound as True Stereophonic 360°. The company specifies a 6.5-inch, 40 W woofer, two 2-inch, 6 W full-range speakers and a 7.5-inch passive radiator. Three Class D amplifiers deliver a listed total output of 200 W. Marshall also gives a maximum sound pressure level of 97 dB at 1 m and a frequency range of 42 Hz–20,000 Hz. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish how loud or balanced the speaker will sound in a particular room or outdoors.
Inputs for microphones and instruments
Two XLR/6.35 mm combo inputs let users connect microphones or instruments, taking the Bromley 150 beyond wireless music playback. A microphone is not included. Check the connector and cable requirements for the microphone or instrument you plan to use; the product listing does not mean every audio setup will connect without the appropriate cable or adapter.

- TRUE STEREOPHONIC: Crystal-clear 360° sound.
- 40+ HOURS OF PORTABLE PLAYTIME: Keep playing all day and through to the next night.
- SOUND CHARACTER CONTROL: Match the music to the pace of your party. Go from pre-party mingling to the peak and then straight to the after-party with a few simple adjustments.
- INTEGRATED STAGE LIGHTS: Pick from three stage-inspired presets.
- MIC & INSTRUMENT INPUTS: Bromley 750 has been designed with all the inputs you need to connect mics, instruments, and turntables for the ultimate party.
Wireless and wired connections
Marshall lists Bluetooth 5.3 with Auracast, multipoint and SBC, AAC and LC3 codec support. For wired connections, there is a 3.5 mm AUX input and output, USB-C charging in/out at 5 V, 3 A, and the two combo inputs. These options make it possible to use the speaker with more than a phone, though the USB-C specification is for charging rather than a listed digital audio input.

Battery life, charging and water resistance
Marshall claims 40+ hours of playtime for the rechargeable, replaceable LFP (LiFePO4) battery. It also states that a 20-minute charge provides five hours of playtime and that a full recharge takes three hours. These are manufacturer figures, not independently measured results; actual runtime can vary with use and conditions. The included Marshall battery 415 is installed in the speaker. Do not assume it is interchangeable with batteries for other Bromley models unless compatibility is confirmed for the Bromley 150.

Marshall identifies the battery, corner caps, handle, front grille, knobs and battery lid as replaceable parts. It says spare parts and authorised repair services are available through Marshall, with availability varying by market. The cabinet includes FSC 100%-certified wood, which Marshall says accounts for approximately 23% of the product’s weight excluding accessories and packaging; that certification applies to the wood components, not the entire speaker. Other listed materials include PU leather and TPU plastic corner caps.

Price and availability depend on region
When accessed for Marshall’s Singapore-region product page, the listing displayed $499.99 and preorder status with estimated shipping in mid-October. That is a regional, time-sensitive listing, not a universal price or confirmation of current availability. Check Marshall’s page for your country for the latest price and shipping information. Who should consider the Bromley 150?
- It may suit: someone who wants a handle-equipped, battery-powered speaker for gatherings and values built-in lights or microphone and instrument inputs.
- It may not suit: someone seeking a small, light everyday speaker, or someone who needs a tested comparison of sound quality against competing party speakers. The available specifications do not establish a comparative listening verdict.
In short, the crossover comes from combining boombox-style portability features with party-oriented lighting and performance inputs. Whether its size, weight and feature set fit your use depends on how you plan to carry and use it.
