The Marshall Acton III is a compact, mains-powered Bluetooth speaker for shelves, living rooms and small gatherings. The advertised $110 saving is not confirmed by the available dated prices: Marshall lists it at $299.99, Sweetwater showed $199.99 (a $100 reduction), and a SoundGuys deal report listed $179.99 on Amazon on July 2, 2026. Because these are time-sensitive listings, check the live price and stock before buying.
Is the Acton III really $110 off?
Not on the documented prices. Marshall’s US list price is $299.99. Sweetwater displayed an instant price of $199.99, which is $100 below list. Separately, SoundGuys reported an Amazon price of $179.99 in a deal article dated July 2, 2026; that price would be $120 below Marshall’s list, but it is a past report rather than a guaranteed current offer.

What you get for the money
Acton III is the smallest model in Marshall’s Home Line III range. It is designed to stay in one place and connect to a phone, tablet or computer over Bluetooth, rather than travel outdoors on a battery. Marshall describes it as fitting “in anywhere, with sound that really stands out.”
#1 Best Overall
- ROOM-FILLING SOUND: Acton III has an even wider soundstage than its predecessor, delivering immersive, room-filling Marshall signature sound.
- PAIR, PLAY AND TURN IT UP: Acton III is straight to business, so you can just pair and play without the hassle of a complex set-up
- NEXT-GENERATION BLUETOOTH: Acton III is ready for the future of Bluetooth technology and has been built to deliver next-generation Bluetooth features the moment they are available
- ICONIC DESIGN THAT STANDS APART: Marshall has taken its signature rock ’n’ roll home speaker line-up and given it a stripped-back look that makes a loud statement
- A MORE SUSTAINABLE APPROACH: While staying true to the iconic design that speaks to the brand’s heritage, Acton III has a PVC-free build that comprises 70% recycled plastic and only vegan materials.

How it connects
Bluetooth
Pair your playback device with the speaker using Bluetooth. Version 5.2 provides the wireless link, and Marshall says the hardware is ready for Bluetooth LE Audio. The speaker can be used without Marshall’s app, although Marshall recommends the app for the best experience.
3.5 mm cable
For a wired source, run a standard 3.5 mm audio cable from the source’s headphone or line output to the Acton III’s 3.5 mm input. This is useful for a desktop computer, older music player or any device you do not want to pair wirelessly.

What it does not provide
- No Wi-Fi networking or network-streaming connection is listed.
- No microphone system or voice-command support is listed.
- It is not described as water resistant.
- It is not a battery portable speaker; plan for a nearby power outlet.
Will it suit a living room or a party?
Its 95 dB maximum sound-pressure specification at 1 metre and three-amplifier layout give it substantial output for a compact cabinet. The 30 W woofer amplifier handles low frequencies while two 15 W tweeter amplifiers drive the high-frequency section. Bass and treble knobs let you make quick analogue adjustments for room placement or different music.
The 260 × 170 × 150 mm cabinet is easier to place on a shelf or sideboard than Marshall’s larger Home Line III models. Its 2.85 kg weight is manageable to move between rooms, but it is still best treated as a stationary speaker because it needs mains power. For a typical living room or a small get-together, the stated output should be appropriate; a larger, crowded space may benefit from a physically larger speaker.
Rank #3
- WIDER SOUNDSTAGE: Improved tweeters and waveguides disperse sound to cover a bigger area.
- ENHANCED BASS: A redesigned bass port that creates a cleaner and more powerful bass with tighter sound at higher volumes. Now it’s also easier to place it flush against the wall without affecting audio performance.
- DYNAMIC LOUDNESS: Get a consistent and balanced sound at all volumes.
- NEW CUSTOMIZABLE M-BUTTON: The fourth edition of Acton now features the M-button. One press to get to your music or adjust sound or dive straight into your favorite music via Spotify Tap.
- UPDATED TACTILE CONTROLS: Heritage amp-inspired design for intuitive interactions. The classic brass top panel includes an improved media control and the signature power switch.
Acton III versus larger Home Line III models
Marshall identifies Acton III as the most compact Home Line III model and says the larger Stanmore III and Woburn III differ mainly in cabinet size and driver/amplifier configuration. The available product information does not provide a like-for-like maximum-SPL figure or current price for those models, so the practical comparison is about scale and installation rather than an unverified loudness ranking.
| Decision factor | Acton III | Larger Home Line III models |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet size | 260 × 170 × 150 mm | Larger than Acton III; exact dimensions depend on model |
| Amplifier/driver layout | 30 W woofer amp plus two 15 W tweeter amps | Different, larger driver and amplifier configurations |
| Placement | Shelf, sideboard or compact stand | Requires more room and a sturdier location |
| Wi-Fi and voice control | Not provided | Not stated in the available Acton III information |
| Wired input | 3.5 mm input | Check the specific model before purchase |
| Price | $299.99 list; dated deals noted above | Not stated |
Before you buy
- Verify the live price: the documented discounts range from $100 at Sweetwater to a separately reported $179.99 Amazon price, and neither guarantees today’s offer.
- Measure the location: allow for the 260 × 170 × 150 mm cabinet and access to a mains outlet.
- Choose your source: Bluetooth is the simplest option; use the 3.5 mm input when you need a cable.
- Set expectations about smart features: there is no Wi-Fi, microphone, voice control or stated water resistance.
- Consider room scale: choose a larger Home Line III cabinet if you need to fill a substantially bigger space and can accommodate its size.
Bottom line on the deal
Acton III is a compact stereo Bluetooth speaker with useful analogue tone controls, a 3.5 mm input and enough specified output for many living rooms and small parties. The $110-saving claim is not established by the dated evidence: treat $199.99 at Sweetwater and the July 2, 2026 $179.99 Amazon report as historical reference points, then confirm the current listing before placing an order.
