How the event worked
Event dates and hours
The event was scheduled to run from 09:00 UK time on Saturday, September 26, until 21:00 UK time on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Nintendo notes that the times in the event-rules image use Central European Summer Time.

Rating and race participation
Each participant began with a versus rating of 3,000 points. Finishing positions in races moved that rating up or down. Players could race as much or as little as they chose during the event window; the rating at the close was locked. As Nintendo UK put it, “Once the time is up, that’s it – the event will be over and your rating total will be locked in!”
Event ID and entry details
Nintendo’s announced in-game route was to select Online Play from the main menu, press the minus button to search for an event, and enter event ID 4245. The announcement also said players could practice with the same rules before the event began.

What players needed
- Game and console: Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Internet access: An internet-connected console was required.
- Online membership: Nintendo specified an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, while noting that a seven-day free trial also qualified. Nintendo Support likewise says a membership is required for the game’s online features.
- Game update: Nintendo instructed participants to update to the latest version. Its support page identifies version 1.8.0 as released September 9, 2026; the event announcement itself did not specify a minimum version number.
