There is no evidence-based universal ranking of electric kettle brands from worst to best: the available comparisons test selected models, while Which? does not make its brand reliability scores public. Based on the model-level evidence available, OXO has the strongest all-around case, Fellow stands out for pour-over, and Amazon Basics is a strong basic-value pick. Treat the ranking below as a guide to specific models and uses—not a verdict on every kettle a brand sells.

How to read this ranking

The list combines model recommendations and observations from TechGearLab’s 2025 test of 15 kettles and Bon Appétit’s 2026 review. Those sources do not use one shared lineup or testing protocol, so their results cannot be merged into a statistically comparable brand score. The order is an editorial guide to the evidence, not a measured league table.

Reliability is a separate question from performance. Which? says its April 2025 survey covered 12,074 kettles and weights the proportion faulty at 50%, average time to first fault at 25%, and the impact of faults on daily use at 25%. Its detailed brand scores are member-gated, so they cannot establish a public worst-to-best order here. Which? explains its kettle-brand reliability survey.

Electric kettle brands ranked by the strongest model-level case

1. OXO — strongest all-around case in this evidence

TechGearLab named the OXO Brew Gooseneck its best overall kettle among the 15 models in its review. Its 2025 boil-time table records 2.9 minutes for that model; the figure belongs to that review’s test and should not be generalized to other OXO kettles, water volumes, or test conditions. Bon Appétit also praises OXO kettle performance, including adjustable temperature control and controlled pouring. This makes OXO the strongest broad-use pick in this evidence set, but not proof that every OXO model outperforms every rival.

  • Sleek & Stylish Design: Elevate your kitchen's aesthetic with this borosilicate glass water kettle, complemented by stainless steel accents and blue LED lights for a modern, sophisticated look.

2. Fellow — strongest specialist choice for pour-over

TechGearLab includes the Fellow Stagg EKG among its leading products; its table records a 3.0-minute boil time for that tested model. Bon Appétit describes the Fellow Corvo EKG as a well-performing small kettle with a temperature display and keep-warm controls. Fellow is a compelling option when precise pouring or temperature features matter, but the smaller capacity and price can make these models less suitable as general-purpose family kettles.

3. Saki — feature-rich, with a hot-exterior caution

Bon Appétit describes the Saki Luna Pro as a 1.75-liter kettle with one-degree temperature control. In its testing, the exterior became hot to the touch. That trade-off is worth considering if the kettle will sit within reach of children or in a crowded kitchen.

Rank #2
Cosori Electric Kettle, No Plastic Contact with Water, 1.7L, Black | Wide Opening, Easy to Clean, Auto Shut-Off, Boil-Dry Protection, Tea Kettle, Hot Water Boiler, Borosilicate Glass, 1500W
  • No Plastic Contact with Your Water——With no plastic inside, water never touches plastic, ensuring a pure taste and safer drinking experience
  • Faster Than a Stovetop Kettle——Heats 0.5L (2 Cups) water in under 3 minutes for less wait time
  • Easy to Clean——Wide mouth and large-angle lid lets you reach every corner with ease
  • Safe & Easy to Use——Worry-free auto shut-off and boil-dry safety feature
  • Auto Shut-Off Safety——Automatically shuts off within 30 seconds after the water reaches a boil

4. Breville — capable, but features vary by model

Bon Appétit describes Breville’s 1.8-liter IQ as fast and feature-rich, while noting that its preset temperatures offer less flexibility than true degree-by-degree control. The simpler Crystal Clear model has no temperature settings or keep-warm function. Compare the model’s controls with your needs rather than assuming features carry across the brand.

5. Zwilling — useful for insulation and temperature presets

Bon Appétit describes the Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Kettle Pro as quiet and easy to clean, with temperature presets and a cool-touch exterior. It is worth considering if those qualities matter more than adjusting temperature one degree at a time.

Rank #3
Chefman Electric Kettle with Temperature Control, 5 Presets LED Indicator Lights, Removable Tea Infuser, Glass Tea Kettle & Hot Water Boiler, 360° Swivel Base, BPA Free, Stainless Steel, 1.8 Liters
  • FAST BOILING: Chefman kettles boil water fast. Boil your water for as little as 3 minutes for tea, hot chocolate, pour-over coffee, and other hot beverages.
  • VARIABLE HEAT SETTINGS: Custom temperature control includes seven presets with boiling temps ranging from 160-212°F for the perfect cup.
  • TRI-COLOR LED LIGHTS: Easily see when your glass teapot with infuser is in standby mode (white lights), heating mode (red lights), and in keep warm/steep mode (green lights).
  • STEEP LOOSE LEAF TEA: With the included removable tea infuser, you can steep a whole pot in our hot water kettle to serve multiple people efficiently.
  • CORDLESS CONVENIENCE: Our cord-free portable kettle for heating water allows you to serve guests in another room while leaving the base plugged in.

6. Cuisinart — compare the model and its price

Bon Appétit describes the Cuisinart PerfecTemp as quick and easy to pour from. Its Soho is an affordable option with a double-wall design and cool-touch exterior, but the review notes slower heating and louder operation for that model. Those distinctions make a brand-wide verdict especially unhelpful: the models serve different priorities.

7. Hamilton Beach — credible value contender

Bon Appétit describes a 1.7-liter Hamilton Beach glass kettle with six presets, keep-warm for up to 30 minutes, and boil-dry protection. Separately, TechGearLab’s 2025 table records 3.2 minutes for the Hamilton Beach 40880. These are not necessarily the same model or test protocol, so do not use the boil-time figure as a result for the glass kettle.

Rank #4
OVENTE 1.7L Electric Tea Kettle, Fast Boiling Water Heater, Black KP72B | BPA-Free, Auto Shut-Off, Boil-Dry Protection, 360° Swivel Base, Cordless Serving, Clear-View Window, Removable Filter, 1100W
  • BOILS WATER IN A FLASH – Operates at 1100W power and boils a full 1.7L of water in just minutes! It’s 50% more efficient than traditional stovetop kettles, helping to reduce your daily electricity usage. The spout is equipped with a removable filter, ensuring debris-free water every time. Simply slide the filter out for easy cleaning and slide it back in for use.
  • DURABILITY WITH STYLE – OVENTE kettles are renowned for both their durability and style. With trendy colors that add a modern touch to your kitchen, they’re also built to last. Featuring a stainless steel concealed heating element, this kettle is designed for long-term use, unlike non-concealed elements that deteriorate more quickly.
  • CLEANEST DRINKING WATER – This fast-heating electric kettle is BPA-free, ensuring that the water you boil is clean and safe for you and your family. The spout features a removable filter, guaranteeing debris-free water every time. Simply slide the filter out for easy cleaning and slide it back in for use.
  • SAFE AND WORRY-FREE BOILING – Equipped with an auto shut-off feature and boil-dry protection technology, this kettle automatically turns off once the water reaches its boiling temperature and shuts off the heating element if there’s no water in the kettle. Additionally, the base includes built-in cord storage slots, helping you keep your kitchen neat and organized.
  • US-BASED CUSTOMER SERVICE LETS YOU BUY WITH CONFIDENCE – OVENTE warranties that the product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and conditions, for 2 years from the original purchase date.

8. Amazon Basics — best basic-value position in this test

TechGearLab called its tested Amazon Basics model the best basic kettle and recorded a 2.7-minute boil time in its 2025 table. That result applies to the tested model and the review’s conditions, not the entire Amazon Basics range. A straightforward kettle can be the better value when adjustable temperatures and other specialized features are unnecessary.

Choose by use case, not brand name alone

  • For a versatile everyday kettle: start with the OXO Brew Gooseneck evidence, then check the exact model’s capacity and controls.
  • For pour-over coffee or controlled pouring: compare the Fellow Stagg EKG and OXO Brew Gooseneck, keeping capacity and price in view.
  • For temperature settings: check whether a model offers presets or precise adjustment; those are different levels of control. The Saki Luna Pro is described with one-degree adjustment, while the Breville IQ has presets.
  • For a basic, lower-cost kettle: the tested Amazon Basics model is the strongest basic-value recommendation in TechGearLab’s review. Consider Hamilton Beach if features such as presets, keep-warm, or boil-dry protection matter.
  • For a cool-touch exterior: Bon Appétit describes that feature on the Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Kettle Pro and Cuisinart Soho; it also reports the Saki Luna Pro became hot to the touch in its testing.

What to compare before buying

Check the exact model rather than relying on a brand reputation. The most useful comparisons are:

Best Value
Chefman Electric Kettle with Tea Infuser, Compact 1L (4 Cups), 1500W, Removable Lid for Easy Cleaning, Boil-Dry Protection, Stainless Steel Filter, BPA Free, Auto Shut Off, Small Electric Tea Kettle
  • Fast Boiling: Experience rapid boiling with this 1500W electric kettle. Get hot water in just 3 minutes, perfect for making tea, coffee, and other hot beverages efficiently.
  • Compact & Efficient: Opt for a small electric kettle with a 1L capacity. Ideal for limited spaces and travel, ensuring quick hot water without occupying excess space.
  • Removable Tea Infuser: Utilize the included infuser to steep loose-leaf tea directly in this hot water kettle. Brew a whole pot and serve multiple people with both efficiency and ease.
  • Safety Assured: Ensure safe and worry-free boiling with automatic shutoff and boil-dry protection in this hot water kettle electric.
  • LED Indicator Lights: Blue LED lights illuminate during heating, providing clear visibility and assurance of the water warming process in this electric tea kettle, and turn off when water is boiled.
  • Capacity: confirm it suits the number of cups you usually make; a small specialist kettle may be inconvenient for several people.
  • Temperature control: distinguish fixed presets from adjustable settings and decide whether either is necessary for your drinks.
  • Pouring: a gooseneck spout can offer more control, while a standard spout may be more convenient for general use.
  • Keep-warm and safety features: check the hold duration, boil-dry protection, and how hot the exterior gets.
  • Maintenance: consider how easy the kettle is to clean and whether its limescale filter is accessible.
  • Current price and warranty: these can vary by model, seller, and market; compare the exact product and local terms before deciding.

Why these results do not identify the most reliable brand

A fast boil or a good pour does not establish long-term reliability. TechGearLab and Bon Appétit report on selected models, while Which?’s brand-level survey scores are gated. Consumer Reports’ 2026 review is another lab-tested source, but its accessible summary is not sufficient here to make a direct brand comparison. The evidence supports model-specific recommendations, not naming one brand the worst or most reliable across its whole range.

For the stated test results and model recommendations, see TechGearLab’s electric kettle test, updated April 23, 2025 and Bon Appétit’s 2026 kettle review. Consumer Reports’ 2026 kettle review is available at its electric kettle tests page.
