YouTube TV carries more than 100 broadcast, cable and regional sports channels, but there is no single lineup that answers what every subscriber can watch: local stations and some sports offerings vary by ZIP code. Two confirmed gaps are A&E and HISTORY, whose support pages say their programming is not currently available on YouTube TV. Before changing services, check the lineup for your area and the exact plan you would need.
Why YouTube TV’s missing-channel list depends on where you live
YouTube TV describes its service as offering 100+ channels, but that figure does not mean every subscriber receives the same stations. Local channels and regional sports offerings can vary by market. To see which channels are available in your area, use YouTube TV’s ZIP-code lookup before treating a channel as available or missing.

Plan contents can also differ. YouTube has announced genre-specific plans and add-ons, but channel availability and plan details can change. Check the current plan comparison and your membership settings for the exact tier and add-ons rather than relying on an older channel list.

Those provider names are leads, not guarantees that a channel is included in every tier or available in every market. Confirm the specific network in the exact plan before subscribing or switching.

Other channels often reported as missing
Third-party omission lists are snapshots, not an authoritative or permanent national lineup. Tom’s Guide has cited A&E, Lifetime, MLB Network, HISTORY and Vice as examples, while noting that availability changes and can vary by region. Use its channel overview as secondary context, then check YouTube TV’s current ZIP-code lineup and plan details for the channel you want.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow to choose an alternative for a missing channel
If a must-have channel is absent, compare the options against your actual viewing needs instead of choosing a service from a general list.
Rank #3
- 4K streaming made simple:With America’s number 1 TV streaming platform,* exploring popular apps—plus tons of free movies, shows, and live TV—is as easy as it is fun. *Based on hours streamed—Hypothesis Group
- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- Exact channel and tier: Make sure the channel is included in the specific plan, not merely mentioned somewhere on the provider’s site.
- Location: Check local stations and regional sports availability for your ZIP code. For sports streams, establish whether access is in-market or out-of-market.
- Total monthly cost: Compare the required plan and any add-ons at current prices, including services you already pay for.
- Overlap and convenience: Consider duplicate channels, separate apps or billing, and whether a focused service alongside YouTube TV meets your needs.
- Sports restrictions: Check team territory, national exclusives, blackout rules and location requirements before paying.
A&E and HISTORY name Frndly TV, Philo, Sling, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV Stream as providers to investigate for their programming. Their listings do not establish which plan currently includes either channel; verify that detail with the provider.
Sports channels and games need a team-specific check
A channel gap and a game-viewing gap are not always the same problem. MLB’s 2026 viewing guide lists local and out-of-market viewing routes team by team and says all 30 teams have a direct-to-consumer option. National broadcasts can change where a game is available, and territory restrictions still matter. MLB says MLB.TV includes MLB Network access; that alone does not establish that it replaces every local game or every channel you want from YouTube TV.

When an antenna helps—and when it does not
An indoor HDTV antenna may receive local broadcast stations over the air when those stations are available and reception conditions permit. It is a possible workaround for local broadcasts, not a way to add cable-only channels such as A&E or HISTORY to YouTube TV. Check which stations are available at your address before relying on an antenna.

Why a channel may disappear and later return
Carriage agreements can change. Disney programming, including ABC and ESPN, went dark on YouTube TV after the companies’ distribution agreement expired on October 30, 2025. The Associated Press reported on November 14, 2025, that a deal restored Disney’s full suite of networks and stations. That episode illustrates why older lists may be misleading; it is not evidence that ABC or ESPN are currently missing.
