Wizards of the Coast says production and shipping problems are delaying selected Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek products. The disruption is regional and product-specific: Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs remain on track for scheduled events, while several Commander, Collector Booster, Bundle and other products may arrive after the set’s November milestones.
What is still on schedule?
The official October 16, 2026 notice says Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track for prerelease and release events. That does not guarantee that every retailer will have stock at the same time, but Wizards has not listed those two products among the delayed items.

The key dates are a November 6, 2026 prerelease milestone and a November 13, 2026 tabletop release milestone. Retail delivery can fall later than either date if a shipment remains delayed.
Delayed products by region
Wizards describes the delays as fluid, so the following list is a snapshot of the products identified in its October 16 announcement.

What this means for a Commander deck
North American buyers
North American Commander decks may not reach stores by the November 13 tabletop release. If you need a deck for a release-week game, ask the store whether it has received its allocation rather than relying on the event date alone.

The Asia-Pacific notice focuses on Collector Boosters, Omega Collector Boosters, Bundles, Beam Me Up Bundles and Draft Night. New Zealand also has a specific warning for Scene Boxes. Commander decks are not listed in the Asia-Pacific portion of the announcement, so availability must be confirmed locally rather than inferred from another region.

Is the Star Trek Beginner Box canceled?
Yes. Wizards announced on September 21, 2026 that it canceled the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Beginner Box in all regions. The stated causes were delays in production, logistics and shipping, and Wizards said it would no longer produce the product.
The cancellation is separate from the October regional delay notice. Anyone who preordered a Beginner Box should contact the game store or retailer that took the order. The September announcement did not say that every other Star Trek product was canceled.

How to check whether your order is available
- Identify the exact product and edition. Note whether your order is a Commander deck, Collector Booster, Bundle, Scene Box, Draft Night product or another item, plus the language edition where applicable.
- Check the store’s current inventory record. Search for the exact phrase “Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander Deck” or the specific product name in your retailer’s stock system. A preorder page may remain active even when the arrival date has moved.
- Ask for an allocation and delivery update. Contact the local game store or retailer and ask whether its shipment has arrived, is in transit, or has been rescheduled. Wizards specifically advises customers to use local availability information because timelines can change.
- Plan around the event date, not an assumed delivery date. If a product is needed for a November 6 prerelease or November 13 release-week gathering, ask about substitutions or alternate inventory before traveling to the event.
- Handle canceled preorders directly. For the Beginner Box, contact the seller about the canceled order, refund or other store-specific resolution.
Why the release dates are not delivery guarantees
November 6 and November 13 are Wizards’ event and tabletop-release milestones, not promises that every regional warehouse or retailer will have every product on those mornings. Production, logistics and shipping can affect different products independently. Wizards says its logistics teams are working to shorten delays, which means an estimated late arrival can change again.

Will a preorder automatically ship on November 13?
No. November 13 is the tabletop release milestone, while retailer delivery depends on the product, region and shipment status.
