ELCOT locations: Vadapalanji and Ilandhaikulam are separate sites
The reported visit concerned companies at parks near Vadapalanji and Pandikovil. Government park profiles provide background on Madurai’s ELCOT facilities, but their figures describe separate locations and should not be treated as inspection findings.
Madurai-Vadapalanji
The Tamil Nadu Information Technology and Digital Services Department describes the Vadapalanji ELCOT site as 245.17 acres: 213 acres in the SEZ and 32.17 acres outside it. The department lists HCL, Chain-Sys Software Exports and Pinnacle Infotech among its land allottees, and names tenants in an ELCOT administrative-cum-IT building. It says that building was inaugurated on March 5, 2019. These details are from the department’s Madurai-Vadapalanji profile and are background, not a current inventory verified during the reported visit.
Rank #2
Ilandhaikulam
Ilandhaikulam is a separate Madurai ELCOT SEZ. The department’s Ilandhaikulam profile lists allottees and office tenants, says all land and buildings had been allotted, and reports 7,200 employees. The page does not date that employee count, so it should not be read as a current 2026 measurement or as a count from Krishna’s inspection.

What is—and is not—established
The published account describes questions and requests made during the visit, not a formal audit, announced corrective measures, confirmed vacancies or hiring outcomes. No verified verbatim quotation from Krishna or another named speaker is available in the report, so the visit’s details are best understood as attributed paraphrase. The India Live story was dated October 6, 2026; its event-specific details are attributed to that report.
