Welke Macs zijn compatibel met macOS 27?
Apple noemt deze apparaatfamilies als compatibel: MacBook Neo (2026); MacBook Air en MacBook Pro met Apple silicon vanaf 2020; iMac met Apple silicon vanaf 2021; Mac mini met Apple silicon vanaf 2020; Mac Studio vanaf 2022; en Mac Pro met Apple silicon uit 2023. De concrete compatibiliteitslijst van Apple Support is gepubliceerd op 14 september 2026.

- Open het Apple-menu en kies Over deze Mac om de modelnaam en het modeljaar te bekijken.
- Vergelijk die exacte gegevens met Apple’s actuele lijst met compatibele Macs. Gebruik de lijst, niet alleen de algemene apparaatfamilie, als beslissende controle.
Apple Support zegt dat een Mac met Apple silicon kan upgraden naar macOS 27, maar de gepubliceerde lijst benoemt welke modellen als compatibel zijn aangemerkt. Een Mac die niet op de macOS 27-lijst staat, kan mogelijk wel een eerdere macOS-versie installeren.

Welke nieuwe functies kondigt Apple aan?
Siri AI en Apple Intelligence
Apple zegt dat Siri AI is gebaseerd op Apple Intelligence en uitgebreidere antwoorden en natuurlijkere gesprekken biedt. De assistent krijgt een aparte app waarin je eerdere gesprekken kunt terugvinden en vastzetten. Volgens Apple kan Siri persoonlijke context gebruiken om bijvoorbeeld foto’s, e-mails of notities terug te vinden, acties uitvoeren in apps zoals Berichten, Muziek en Herinneringen, en online informatie opzoeken. Apple toont ook hulp bij het opstellen van tekst en het geven van feedback.
Apple vermeldt dat Siri AI aanvankelijk alleen in het Engels beschikbaar is en dat gebruikslimieten kunnen gelden. Behandel de beschreven Siri-mogelijkheden daarom niet als een Nederlandstalige functie. Apple noemt daarnaast sommige contextuele suggesties in Berichten en Mail en Gesprekscontext als “binnenkort beschikbaar in het Engels”, niet als functies die al algemeen beschikbaar zijn in het Nederlands.

Apple beschrijft Visuele Intelligentie als een manier om scherminhoud te onderzoeken, bijvoorbeeld in combinatie met Siri. De productpagina geeft daarmee Apple’s aangekondigde functieomschrijving; ze bevat geen onafhankelijke test van de werking of nauwkeurigheid.

Apple beschrijft Liquid Glass als een verfijnde interface met een schuifregelaar om het uiterlijk aan te passen. Ook noemt het uniforme knoppenbalken, doorlopende navigatiekolommen en aangepaste venster- en menubalksymbolen. In Mail moet een classificatiesysteem relevantere zoekresultaten opleveren. Apple zegt verder dat AirDrop sneller aanvoelt en noemt verbeteringen bij browsen door netwerkbestanden en het openen van de Safari-startpagina. Er zijn geen meetresultaten opgegeven voor deze snelheids- en kwaliteitsclaims.

Toegankelijkheid, Agenda en beeldschermen
VoiceOver krijgt volgens Apple uitgebreidere beschrijvingen van afbeeldingen. Een nieuwe ondertitelfunctie kan video automatisch voorzien van gesynchroniseerde ondertitels en bestaande ondertitels naar andere talen omzetten. Voor Agenda noemt Apple het invoeren van activiteiten met natuurlijke taal. Voor ultrabrede beeldschermen worden hogere resoluties genoemd, met 5K bij 120 Hz als voorbeeld.
iCloud, apps en media
Apple zegt dat gedeelde albums in iCloud worden verbeterd en ook op iCloud.com makkelijker toegankelijk worden voor mensen met Android- of Windows-apparaten. In een aantal apps kun je omlaag vegen om te vernieuwen. Ook belooft Apple een soepelere overgang tussen kijken en luisteren naar videopodcasts. De productpagina geeft geen onafhankelijke metingen van de snelheid of kwaliteit van deze verbeteringen.

Apple’s Nederlandse productpagina zegt dat macOS 27 Golden Gate beschikbaar is vanaf 14 september 2026. De vermelding geeft een beschikbaarheidsdatum; controleer Apple’s actuele pagina’s voor eventuele latere wijzigingen in compatibiliteit of functieondersteuning.

Wat moet je weten over taal en beschikbaarheid?
- Siri AI: Apple zegt dat de functie aanvankelijk alleen in het Engels beschikbaar is; gebruikslimieten kunnen gelden.
- Contextuele functies: Apple markeert sommige suggesties in Berichten en Mail en Gesprekscontext als binnenkort beschikbaar in het Engels.
- EU-waarschuwing: Op Apple’s Nederlandse productpagina slaat de betreffende EU-waarschuwing expliciet op iOS, iPadOS en watchOS. Daaruit volgt geen afzonderlijke macOS-beperking.
- Modelondersteuning: Een functieaankondiging betekent niet automatisch dat elk compatibel Mac-model iedere functie ondersteunt. Raadpleeg Apple’s actuele informatie voor jouw model en de functie die je wilt gebruiken.
