Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2026 sale ended at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, so none of the MacBook and iPad prices below can be bought at those levels today. The discounts were real event prices reported by Macworld and MusicRadar, and they still show what kinds of Apple markdowns Amazon ran and how to tell a genuine saving from a headline percentage. Before you act on any similar offer, check the current listing yourself.

The 13-inch M5 Air as the clearest MacBook example
The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage was the most-cited deal. MusicRadar, in an October 6 article, independently reported the same $1,099 price against the $1,299 listing. Its writer judged the 13-inch model a sensible pick for most music makers, while noting that the 15-inch screen could be more comfortable for long sessions. That is one author’s use-case view, not a test result, and the article does not claim performance measurements.

Context: Apple’s June 2026 price increases
Macworld reported that Apple raised prices across its Mac and iPad lineups in June 2026. Its context for the MacBook Air was that a good Air price had been closer to $1,150 after that increase, and that the M5 Pro MacBook Pro had not dropped below $1,800. Macworld also noted that older Air deals had sometimes fallen below $800 before the increase. Those are reported historical comparisons, not forecasts of future sale prices.
iPad prices reported during the event
Macworld’s October 7 U.S. iPad roundup and a MacRumors report gave the following figures. Where a source gave only some of the reference points, the table shows “not stated” rather than estimating them.

| iPad mini 7, 128GB | $499 | $599 (reported as the pre-deal price) | not stated | not stated |
MacRumors reported the 11-inch M4 Air at $649, $100 off, and the iPad mini 7 at $499. Macworld described the M4 iPad Air as the current iPad Air generation and noted a $100 U.S. discount on most configurations. It also said the iPad mini might be near a model update. That was an expectation at the time of writing, not confirmed product news.
Why the A16 iPad discount is smaller than it looks
The 128GB A16 iPad at $399 was $50 below its current $449 list price. It was still $50 above its former $349 list price, and well above the reported $271.29 historical low. A $50 cut from a recently raised price is a different kind of saving than a cut below an older normal price. Keep that distinction in mind when you see any iPad deal labeled a bargain.

How to judge whether a discount is worth taking
A markdown percentage tells you very little on its own. The reported figures above show why. Compare each offer against four references:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- The current list price for the same configuration, which after June 2026 is higher than before for many Apple products.
- The earlier list price, where a source gives one, such as the $349 former price for the 128GB A16 iPad.
- The historical low, where it is reported, as with the $271.29 figure for the same iPad.
- The product’s price history on the Amazon listing, which can show up to 365 days.
Those comparisons matter more than the event label. A deal that is below the current list price but above every older price may be a fair price, not an exceptional one.

Is the “before they go out of stock” urgency justified?
The coverage does not establish that any named MacBook or iPad was close to selling out. Amazon’s general statement that deals are available while supplies last, and can change, applies to every listing and does not describe a specific Apple product’s inventory. Treat stock warnings on a product page as the only reliable signal, and do not assume that an event-period price means scarcity.
Checking a current Amazon listing
- Confirm the exact model year, screen size, memory and storage in the listing title and specifications, since the reported deals depended on those details.
- Open the product page’s Price History section and look at the 365-day range. Note the lowest and typical prices, not only the highest.
- Compare the current price with the list price shown on the same page, and with any earlier price cited in this article.
- Check the availability message on the page. If it shows a delivery date or stock status, record it with the date and time you checked.
- Repeat the check on a different day before buying, because Amazon’s deal prices can change without notice.
Choosing between the options
- Screen size and portability: the 13-inch Air is lighter to carry, while the 15-inch Air gives more screen area for editing or multitasking. The price gap between them in the reported deals was $200 in each case.
- Everyday tablet use versus laptop-class work: the A16 iPad suits browsing, reading and video, while the iPad Air and iPad Pro offer more performance headroom. The coverage does not include performance testing for these models.
- Configuration: the 16GB and 512GB MacBook Air was reported at $1,099, so a higher-storage version should be compared directly against that price, not against the base model.
Where a reader’s need is clear, such as a lightweight laptop for writing or a tablet for reading, the choice can be made on configuration and total price alone. Where the need is unclear, wait for a price that is clearly below the list and earlier price references.
What remains unknown
The coverage reports event prices from October 6 and 7, 2026. It does not establish which of these offers remained available after the event ended, or whether Amazon will repeat similar discounts. Verify the price and stock on the live product page before buying.
The Bottom Line
The Prime Big Deal Days 2026 Apple markdowns were real, with the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air at $1,099 the strongest reported MacBook example. Judge any similar offer against the current list price and earlier low, not the percentage off, and check the live Amazon listing before you buy.
Quick Recap
