Choose by operating system, form factor and exact model—not by family name alone.
Start with the operating system and apps you need
The MacBook Air runs macOS. The cited Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 and Samsung Galaxy Book models run Windows 11. If your work, school, games, peripherals or required software depend on a particular operating system, that can settle the choice before comparing hardware. Check compatibility for the exact apps and devices you rely on, especially if moving between macOS and Windows.

Within Windows, processor names alone do not establish which laptop will be faster for your work. The cited product information covers different processor families, not a controlled test of matching configurations. For a performance decision, look for independent testing of the exact models under workloads like yours.

Decide whether you want a clamshell or a convertible
MacBook Air: a conventional clamshell
Apple announced the M5 MacBook Air in 13-inch and 15-inch models on March 3, 2026; its comparison page specifies 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch displays. Neither is a 360-degree convertible, so look elsewhere if tablet-style use or pen input is essential.
#1 Best Overall

Lenovo Yoga: check the model name closely
Yoga is a product family, not a single laptop design. Lenovo’s 14-inch AMD Yoga 7 2-in-1 has a 360-degree hinge and 10-point touchscreen. Yoga Pen support is offered on select models; check the exact part number and included accessories rather than assuming a pen comes in the box.
Yoga also includes conventional clamshells. For example, Lenovo’s PSREF for the Yoga Slim 7 14Q8X9 describes a 14.5-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with refresh rates up to 90Hz. That specification belongs to that model, not every Yoga.

Samsung Galaxy Book: identify the specific format
Galaxy Book is also a family. Samsung’s U.S. comparison page spans multiple models and configurations, including different displays and processors. Identify the exact Book, Pro or 360 model before comparing design, touch support or specifications; the U.S. lineup does not establish what is sold in another country.
Compare the current models, not the family labels
These are useful examples from the cited product information, not equivalent configurations. Specs such as screen, weight, ports and battery claims should be verified against the exact local SKU.

| Example | Design and display | Other stated details | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple MacBook Air M5 | Clamshell; 13-inch or 15-inch model (13.6- or 15.3-inch display) | 512GB standard storage; Wi-Fi 7; Bluetooth 6; two Thunderbolt 4 ports supporting up to two external displays; Apple claims up to 18 hours of battery life. | Exact regional availability, current price, and whether the ports and screen suit your setup. “Up to 18 hours” is Apple’s manufacturer claim, not a comparative independent test. |
| Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 (14-inch AMD) | 14-inch convertible with 360-degree hinge and 10-point touchscreen | Windows 11; listed starting weight of 1.4 kg (3.09 lb), which may vary by configuration; Yoga Pen support on select models. | Exact processor, memory, storage, part number, weight and whether a pen is included. |
| Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14Q8X9 | Clamshell; 14.5-inch 3K OLED touchscreen, up to 90Hz | Lenovo PSREF lists a starting weight of 1.28 kg (2.82 lb). | Availability and the full configuration in your market; the PSREF is dated March 12, 2026. |
| Samsung Galaxy Book family | Varies by model; Samsung’s U.S. comparison includes OLED and IPS displays. | The cited U.S. page includes Windows 11 configurations with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and Series 2, and Snapdragon X family processors. | Exact model, screen, processor, memory, ports, weight, price and regional availability. |
Compare price and value on the same basis
Tom’s Guide reported U.S. launch/list prices on March 3, 2026, of $1,099 for the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air and $1,299 for the 15-inch M5 model; it also reported $999 for a retained 13-inch M4 Air. Those are article-reported prices at publication, not guaranteed current retailer prices. Apple said M5 Air availability began March 11, 2026. Check current local prices and availability before deciding; the cited information does not give a matched current price comparison for Lenovo Yoga and Samsung Galaxy Book.
For a fair value comparison, match memory and storage first, then account for warranty and support. A lower-priced configuration may not be comparable if it has less memory, a smaller drive or a different display. Also check whether the screen features and ports you need are included on the actual SKU rather than inferred from a family page.

Which one should you buy?
- Choose MacBook Air M5 if you want a macOS clamshell and have confirmed your applications and accessories work with macOS. Decide between the 13-inch and 15-inch model by the screen size you want, then verify local pricing and configuration.
- Choose Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 if a Windows laptop that converts for touch-first or tablet-style use is your priority. Confirm the exact configuration and whether it includes the pen if you plan to write or draw with one.
- Consider a Yoga Slim model if you want a conventional Windows clamshell but prefer a particular screen such as the OLED panel listed for the Yoga Slim 7 14Q8X9. Verify the SKU and its availability where you live.
- Choose a Samsung Galaxy Book only after narrowing the model if a particular Book, Pro or 360 configuration meets your Windows, screen and form-factor needs. The family-wide comparison is not specific enough to recommend one configuration over the other two product families.
A quick checklist before you order
- Confirm the operating system supports your required apps, games and peripherals.
- Write down the exact model name and configuration—not just “Yoga” or “Galaxy Book.”
- Compare screen size, resolution, refresh rate, touch support and display type on the exact SKU.
- Match processor, memory and storage as closely as possible; seek independent same-workload tests if performance is decisive.
- Check ports, weight, warranty, local availability and current price for that configuration.
- If battery life matters, compare independent tests with stated methods. Do not treat one manufacturer’s “up to” figure as proof of an advantage over the others.
