Choose Fitbit Air if you want a lower reported upfront price and a lighter, more compact band; choose Luna Band if you prefer its broader haptic alerts and want the included features without a subscription. Both offer basic functionality without a required subscription, but some advanced Fitbit features require paid Google Health Premium. Prices and specifications below are reported figures, not guaranteed current listings.
1. Upfront price: Fitbit Air is reported to cost less
Tom’s Guide reported on September 20, 2026, that Fitbit Air cost $99 and Luna Band cost $149. Tech Advisor’s September 2026 review listed Fitbit Air at £84/$99 and Luna Band at £129/$149. These are dated, source-reported prices; check the current listing and currency for your market before buying.

|---|---|---|
| Fitbit Air | $99 | £84/$99 |

At those reported prices, Luna costs $50 more in the US. Whether that difference matters over time depends partly on which features you want, since the subscription terms are not the same.

3. Battery life: advertised estimates, not equivalent test results
Tom’s Guide reported ratings of up to 7 days for Fitbit Air and up to 10 days for Luna Band. Dan Bracaglia noted that he had not personally verified Luna’s battery claim in his September 20 comparison. Tech Advisor’s September 28 hands-on review also reported up to 10 days for Luna, but that rating should still be read as an estimate rather than a guarantee for every wearer or usage pattern.
4. Size and weight: Fitbit Air is the lighter option
Tom’s Guide describes Fitbit Air as lighter and more compact, giving an approximate weight of 14 g for Fitbit Air and 26 g for Luna Band. Tech Advisor gives Luna’s weight as 24 g, so published figures for Luna differ. The practical comparison is clearer than the precise number: Fitbit Air is reported to be the lighter, smaller band.

Luna Band is reported to support a broader set of haptic uses, including notifications, alerts, alarms, and prompts to stand or move. What to know about tracking and app availability
Tom’s Guide says Fitbit Air tracks sleep, workouts, and stress. Tech Advisor’s hands-on review describes Luna sensors for heart rate, movement, skin temperature, and SpO2, as well as compatibility with Apple Health and Google Fit. Those descriptions do not establish clinical accuracy, and Tech Advisor noted that some Luna app functions were marked “coming soon” and that SpO2 data was not visible during its test period.
Tech Advisor reviewer Mike Sawh wrote that Luna could get a user through “a week’s worth of monitoring your data 24/7,” reflecting his hands-on assessment. The review also noted scuffing on Luna’s buckle and a proprietary charger. These are useful practical considerations alongside the headline features.

Which tracker should you buy?
- Pick Fitbit Air if a lower reported purchase price, smaller size, lighter weight, or Smart Alarm vibration matters most to you.
- Pick Luna Band if the broader reported haptic alerts and subscription-free access to its included features, including personalized AI insights, are worth the higher reported upfront price.
- Compare the app experience before deciding if a specific metric or feature is essential: some Luna functions were unavailable during Tech Advisor’s review period, and the listed sensors should not be treated as proof of clinical-grade measurement.
