LuLu Group’s first reported hypermarket in Chennai was scheduled to open at Shenoy Nagar Metro Station on 12 October 2026, with a local preview specifying a 4:00 PM opening. Pre-opening reports also listed a LuLu Daily outlet for Chennai Central Metro Station. The reports describe planned retail outlets at metro stations, not a full-scale LuLu mall in Chennai.
When was the Shenoy Nagar hypermarket scheduled to open?
Samayam Tamil reported on 6 October 2026 that the Chennai outlets were scheduled to open from 12 October. A Live Chennai preview, updated 9 October, gave the Shenoy Nagar hypermarket’s opening time as 4:00 PM on 12 October. These were advance reports: at the reporting cutoff of 13 October 2026 at 02:27 UTC, that scheduled time—10:30 UTC—was still ahead. The sources therefore establish the announced schedule, not that the store subsequently opened or is currently operating.

Are the outlets inside the metro stations?
The reports place the retail outlets at Shenoy Nagar and Chennai Central Metro Stations. They do not provide enough detail to establish the precise entrance, floor, access route, or whether a particular outlet can be reached without entering the station. Chennai Metro Rail Company and LuLu Group’s retail plans for the two stations were also covered by The Indian Express Tamil on 8 March 2026; that earlier background does not specify detailed lease or development terms.
Is this a LuLu mall opening in Chennai?
No. The cited coverage concerns retail outlets at metro stations, including a hypermarket and a convenience-store format. It does not report the opening of a full-scale LuLu mall in Chennai.
