Louisville wide receiver Elizjah Lewis (#86) was listed as probable for the Cardinals’ October 3, 2026 game at NC State in the team’s Friday, October 2 availability report. He had been listed as questionable on September 30. The change is a pregame status update, not confirmation that he played.
What changed in Lewis’s status?
The September 30 report categorized Lewis as questionable; the October 2 report moved him to probable. The later listing is the latest status available before the scheduled kickoff. WDRB and WAVE’s September 30 report covered the earlier designation, while the October 2 game preview and availability list showed him as probable. RotoWire’s dated player news also reflected the probable update.
What is known about the reason?
The reason for Lewis’s status was not disclosed in the reporting. No diagnosis, injury location, severity, or treatment is established by the available Lewis-specific information, so the designation should not be used to infer a particular injury.
The ACC availability policy reproduced in a 2025–26 conference weekly release says that only a player’s status—not the specific reason for uncertainty—will be made public. Its categories include Available, Probable, Questionable, and Out. The conference policy provides context for the absence of a stated cause; it does not add a diagnosis for Lewis.

Does probable mean Lewis will play?
No. Probable is a pregame category, not proof of participation. The October 2 report established his listed status, but whether he ultimately appeared, how many snaps he played, and whether he recorded any production were unresolved before kickoff. The ACC policy describes status categories rather than confirming an individual player’s eventual participation.

Louisville was scheduled to visit NC State on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with kickoff listed for 3:30 p.m. ET at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. Lewis’s probable designation was one entry in a broader Louisville availability list. Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, defensive back Koen Entringer, and receiver Lawayne McCoy were listed as questionable in the same Friday report. Kienholz’s status was separate from Lewis’s: coach Jeff Brohm’s reported comment that Kienholz would “probably be a game-time decision” referred to the quarterback, not Lewis. The preview attributes that quotation to Yahoo Sports.
