The Logitech G502 X PLUS is a right-handed wireless gaming mouse for players who want many configurable controls, LIGHTSPEED connectivity, RGB lighting and a dual-mode scroll wheel. Its appeal depends less on a promised competitive edge than on whether its shape, weight and feature set suit the way you play. Logitech lists the mouse at 106 g; RTINGS displays 103.7 g, so the sources do not agree on its weight.
What the G502 X PLUS offers
Logitech combines LIGHTSPEED wireless with LIGHTSYNC RGB, LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches and a HERO sensor. The design is recognizably feature-rich: there are multiple programmable inputs, a scroll wheel that can switch between ratcheted and free-spinning modes, and a DPI-shift button that can be repositioned or replaced with the included cover.

Logitech’s support specification lists 11 buttons and 13 programmable controls, five onboard profiles, a 100–25,600 DPI range, maximum acceleration above 40 G and maximum tracking speed above 400 IPS. These are published specifications, not independent measurements of in-game performance. Logitech Support’s G502 X PLUS specifications also list hyper-fast vertical scrolling with left/right tilt and a USB-C charging port.

Logitech’s US product page describes the LIGHTFORCE switches as hybrid optical-mechanical switches, combining optical actuation with mechanical feedback.

Does its shape and weight suit you?
The G502 X PLUS is a right-handed mouse with a substantial set of controls. That layout can be useful if you want actions close at hand, but the shape is not a universal fit: comfort depends on hand size, grip and personal preference. If you can, assess the shape in person or buy from a retailer with a suitable return policy.
Weight is another practical consideration. Logitech’s UK specification lists 106 g and dimensions of 131.4 × 41.1 × 79.2 mm; RTINGS’ comparison view gives a default weight of 103.7 g. GamesRadar also lists 106 g. These are source-specific figures, and the available sources do not resolve the difference. If you strongly prefer a lighter mouse, consider that before choosing this model. Logitech UK’s specifications provide its listed weight and dimensions.

Battery life, lighting and charging
Logitech advertises up to 130 hours of battery life with RGB off, or up to 37 hours with RGB set to always on. Those are manufacturer estimates, and Logitech notes that battery life varies with use; the lighting condition matters when comparing the figures. If you want the illuminated effect, expect the shorter advertised figure to be the relevant one.
The box includes a USB-C charging cable and a LIGHTSPEED USB-A receiver, along with a USB extension adapter, the DPI-shift button cover and documentation. POWERPLAY is optional: Logitech lists the mouse as compatible with its wireless charging system for buyers who want desk charging. It is not required to use the mouse. Logitech’s support specification lists the contents and POWERPLAY compatibility.

G502 X PLUS vs. G502 HERO
RTINGS characterizes the G502 HERO and G502 X PLUS as having similar overall gaming performance. It describes the X PLUS as the newer wireless model, with more RGB, a lighter build and hybrid optical-mechanical switches in place of the HERO’s standard mechanical switches. That comparison does not establish that every player will perform better with the newer mouse; the practical reasons to choose it are its wireless design and feature differences, not an assumed competitive advantage. RTINGS’ G502 HERO vs. G502 X PLUS comparison provides the model comparison.
GamesRadar’s 2026 buying guide praises the Plus’s feature set and ergonomic design while noting that cheaper alternatives exist. Whether those features justify the price for you depends on how much you value wireless use, RGB, extra programmable inputs and the dual-mode wheel.

Sensor version, colors and availability
Logitech’s surfaced product material is inconsistent about the sensor branding: one description identifies HERO 25K, while current page content also says HERO 44K. Logitech Japan announced on 2026-09-24 that Dark Lilac and Mint Green versions were scheduled to launch on 2026-10-15 and would ship with HERO 44K. As of 2026-10-04, that announced launch date is still in the future.

Who should buy the G502 X PLUS?
- Consider it if you want a right-handed wireless mouse with numerous configurable inputs, RGB and a wheel that supports both ratcheted and free-spinning scrolling.
- Think carefully if low weight is a priority, if you are unsure about the shape, or if you would not use its extra controls and lighting.
- Choose based on your use, not a performance promise: RTINGS finds similar overall gaming performance to the G502 HERO, so the Plus is not a guaranteed upgrade for every player.
- Skip the wireless premium if wired simplicity better suits your setup; the Plus’s main differentiators include LIGHTSPEED wireless and RGB.
- Add POWERPLAY only if desk charging matters; the mouse already comes with a charging cable and receiver.
At release, Logitech listed Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.14 or later alongside G HUB software. That is release-era compatibility information, not a current operating-system audit; check Logitech’s support page for current software and OS requirements before purchase. Logitech Support
