1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCompare Live Nation with other entertainment stocks by the business they actually operate—not just by whether they are associated with concerts. Live Nation combines concert promotion, primary ticketing, and sponsorship and media activities; Madison Square Garden Entertainment is more centered on venues, bookings, and productions, while CTS Eventim provides a cross-market comparison in promotion and ticketing. Those differences affect revenue, costs, seasonality, and valuation, so there is no useful one-number comparison until the businesses and reporting periods are aligned.
Start by defining what counts as a peer
“Live entertainment stock” covers businesses with very different revenue sources. Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) competes in concert promotion, venue management, and primary ticketing, but a company may overlap with it in only one of those activities. Its FY2025 Form 10-K names competitors by business area, which is a better starting point for a peer list than a broad entertainment label.

For an apples-to-apples comparison, group companies by exposure: promoters with promoters, ticketing operations with ticketing operations, and venue operators with venue operators. Then note where a company spans more than one group. A venue portfolio may make a business relevant to Live Nation without making it a direct match for Live Nation’s wider mix.
How the main comparison candidates differ
| Company | What makes it relevant | What to watch when comparing it with Live Nation |
|---|---|---|
| Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) | Concert promotion, ticketing, and sponsorship and media activities. | Use its latest filings to separate segment performance and understand the contribution of each activity. |
| Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: MSGE) | A venue-, bookings-, and production-centered business. Its FY2026 filing describes Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theatre, The Chicago Theatre, the Christmas Spectacular, and a bookings business, alongside capabilities such as venue management, sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality, and content. | Its portfolio of named venues and productions is a different asset and operating mix from Live Nation’s broader promotion and ticketing activities. Venue utilization, fixed costs, and production economics deserve separate attention. |
| CTS Eventim | Live Nation identifies it as a competitor in concert promotion and primary ticketing, making it a cross-market comparison. | Country mix, currency, accounting presentation, and fiscal periods may differ. Normalize those before comparing financial results. |
| Liberty Live Holdings | A separate listed company following a split-off from Liberty Media. | Do not assume it is a pure operating peer. Check its latest filing for current holdings and financial structure before using it in a comparison. |
Live Nation also names AEG as a competitor, but AEG is not a directly purchasable listed stock on the evidence available here. Competitive relevance and stock-market comparability are not the same thing.

Read scale figures as clues, not as a scorecard
Live Nation reported that it connected 159 million fans to over 11,000 artists at 55,000 events in 2025. Those are company-reported operating figures from Live Nation Entertainment’s FY2025 filing, not independent estimates of the live-entertainment market and not evidence by themselves of profitability. They can help describe the company’s activity, but they do not provide a like-for-like measure against MSGE’s venue or production activity.
For each company, identify what its operating measures count. Event totals, ticket volumes, attendance, venue bookings, and ticket gross value may describe activity, but they are not interchangeable with recognized revenue or profit. Use the company’s financial statements and segment disclosures to connect operating activity to reported results.

Align the businesses and accounting before comparing results
Separate segments and sources of demand
Record each company’s reported segments and ask what drives them: event attendance, ticket volumes, venue utilization, sponsorship, artist and promoter relationships, or owned productions. These activities can respond differently to consumer demand and can carry different cost structures. Geographic reach and currency exposure matter too, especially when comparing a US-centered operator with an international business.
Line up fiscal periods and financial definitions
Use each company’s latest full-year filing and latest interim report, and label the period covered. A calendar-year result should not be presented as directly comparable to a company’s fiscal year ending in a different month without explaining the mismatch. The same care applies to definitions: distinguish reported revenue from ticket gross value or other volume measures, and use consistent definitions for operating margin and free cash flow.

For a fuller operating comparison, review segment results, cash and debt, lease obligations, capital expenditure, share count, and dilution. A venue-heavy company may have a different mix of owned property, leased facilities, and fixed operating costs from a promoter or ticketing business. Do not infer these figures across companies from headline attendance or event counts.
Compare valuation only after the operating picture is clear
A valuation comparison needs a synchronized market-data snapshot: take share prices and share counts on one stated date, calculate market capitalization and enterprise value consistently, and use dated, sourced earnings estimates if presenting forward multiples. Measures such as EV/revenue and EV/EBITDA can be useful where they make sense for the businesses being compared, but they do not erase differences in margins, asset intensity, accounting, or growth.

Explain how EBITDA is adjusted and how leases are treated. This is particularly important when comparing operators with different venue ownership and lease structures. Keep trailing results separate from forward estimates and state the period for each. The cited company filings and information here do not establish current peer-wide share prices, valuation multiples, or forward estimates, so they do not support a claim that one of these stocks is cheaper or more expensive today.

Live entertainment businesses share exposure to event timing and cancellations, discretionary consumer spending, artist and venue concentration, and competition for audiences and ticketing. Live Nation’s FY2025 filing also describes competition from other entertainment options and competitors that have stronger positions in particular markets.

The weight of each risk depends on the business mix. A venue-centered operator can be more exposed to utilization and fixed venue costs; a promoter may have different exposure to event lineups and relationships; and international operations add country and currency considerations. Review each company’s own risk disclosures rather than assuming that the same industry label means the same risk profile.
A practical comparison checklist
- Choose the comparison: promoter, ticketing operator, venue business, or a clearly labeled combination.
- Map the mix: list reported segments, operating drivers, geographic exposure, and any major venues or productions.
- Align the periods: note fiscal year-ends and use the latest full-year and interim reports for each company.
- Normalize the measures: distinguish revenue from volume metrics and use consistent definitions for margins, free cash flow, debt, and leases.
- Then assess valuation: use one market-data date, transparent calculations, and clearly dated estimates where applicable.
- Check concentration and risks: review exposure to artists, venues, event timing, consumer demand, regulation, and geography.
This approach supports an informed comparison, not a buy-or-sell conclusion: a credible ranking would require refreshed filings and synchronized market data, not just a list of companies with concert-related businesses.
