It is designed for LiteWing programs, not as a general-purpose app for programming any drone. The product announcement describes project saving, console output and a propeller-off debug mode, alongside standalone Windows and Apple Silicon Mac versions.
What LiteWing Blockly does
Blockly is an open-source library developers use to build drag-and-drop visual programming editors. LiteWing Blockly applies that approach to the LiteWing platform: arrange blocks to create a program, then view readable Python generated from those blocks in real time. The announcement says that code is compatible with the LiteWing library. This can make the relationship between a visual instruction and its text-code equivalent visible while building a project, rather than hiding code entirely. CircuitDigest’s October 1, 2026 announcement describes these app features; they are product-described capabilities, not independent test findings.
Projects, console and debugging
- Save: The announcement says projects can be saved as
.lwbfiles. - Console: It describes a console for connection messages, output, warnings and errors.
- Debug mode: It says users can inspect block order, timing and sensor logic with the propellers inactive before attempting flight. Treat this as a way to review a program, not as a guarantee that it will fly safely or behave as intended.
Which computers and terms are described
The announcement describes LiteWing Blockly as a standalone application for Windows 10/11 64-bit and Apple Silicon Macs, with the required Python runtime and LiteWing dependencies included. It says the application is free for educational and personal use. Current downloads, platform support and terms should be checked on the official LiteWing Wiki page, which the announcement identifies as the source for downloads and documentation.
What hardware it targets
LiteWing is an ESP32-S3 drone platform. The project documentation describes firmware built with ESP-IDF and based on Espressif’s ESP-Drone, with flight-control code derived from Crazyflie. It lists Blockly among several ways to program or control the platform, alongside mobile control, Python/CFClient, Betaflight and Arduino. The Arduino option is listed as a platform capability, while its tutorial is described as forthcoming; that does not establish that a finished Arduino workflow is available through Blockly. The LiteWing project documentation gives these platform details.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Battery compatibility: check more than the plug
The LiteWing battery guide, published February 19, 2025 and last updated December 8, 2025, specifies a 3.7 V 1S LiPo with at least a 20C discharge rating and an MX2.0/Molex 51005/51006 series connector. It warns that connector polarity is not standardized: check the battery’s polarity against the PCB before connecting it.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Match the required 3.7 V 1S battery configuration.
- Meet or exceed the guide’s 20C minimum discharge rating.
- Confirm the connector series, physical fit and polarity against the board; a plug that fits does not prove the wiring is correct.
- Choose capacity with the weight-versus-flight-duration trade-off in mind. Capacity alone is not a reliable promise of flight time.
The battery guide’s regional retailer links are not evidence that a particular battery has been tested or verified by its authors. Check the current listing, connector, polarity and fit before buying or connecting one. The assembly guide describes a DIY package containing the PCB, four motors, four 65 mm propellers, rubber grommets, PCB stands and a 1S 3.7 V 30C LiPo, but kit contents may differ by seller or version; confirm what is included in the current listing.
How Blockly fits beside other LiteWing options
The project supports multiple programming or control paths, but they are not interchangeable just because they target the same drone. Blockly’s distinguishing feature is its blocks-to-Python view. The wiki also documents a Python SDK and CFClient, and lists Arduino programming separately. The sources do not establish for each path whether it operates the preloaded firmware or requires reflashing, nor do they document that every sensor-based project is supported in Blockly. For a sensor project, verify that the specific module and workflow are documented for the app rather than inferring compatibility from general LiteWing support.

Safety and support context
Use the product-described debug mode to review a program with propellers inactive before flight, then follow appropriate assembly and operating precautions. The available product information does not establish safety certification, independent flight testing or suitability for autonomous flight in every environment.
Espressif’s documentation says the ESP-Drone project has had limited support since December 2022. LiteWing’s firmware is described as based on ESP-Drone, but that statement about Espressif’s project does not show that LiteWing Blockly or LiteWing firmware is unmaintained. Espressif’s ESP-Drone documentation is the source for that support note.
