The correct LinkedIn Page logo size
Use a square canvas measuring 400 × 400 pixels for the clearest general-purpose result. LinkedIn’s official Page specification lists 268 × 268 pixels as the minimum. A file may be smaller than 400 pixels and still meet the stated minimum, but starting at the recommended size gives you more room for a sharp mark, fine lettering and safe margins.

The Page-logo and profile-cover figures come from LinkedIn Help pages whose search results showed updates roughly eight and six months before 2026 access. LinkedIn controls these limits, so check its current Help documentation if you are publishing much later.
Why a square 400 × 400 file works best
It matches the logo slot
A Page logo occupies a square space in LinkedIn’s Page interface and in places where the Page is represented in search, posts or recommendations. Designing on a square canvas avoids forcing a wide wordmark into a narrow crop. Keep the complete symbol inside the canvas rather than touching an edge.

It preserves detail after downscaling
LinkedIn may display the logo at a much smaller size than its source file. A 400-pixel master gives text and thin lines more source detail than a file created at the 268-pixel minimum. Export at the recommended dimensions instead of enlarging a tiny raster later.
It keeps the file within the upload limit
A 400 × 400 PNG or JPEG normally has ample quality for a logo while remaining below LinkedIn’s 3 MB ceiling. If your export exceeds 3 MB, remove unnecessary metadata, choose a sensible JPEG quality, or optimize the PNG without changing the canvas dimensions.
Prepare the image before uploading
- Create a 400 × 400 px document. Use RGB color for a web image and place the artwork on a square background or transparent layer.
- Set safe margins. Leave breathing room around the mark. Very small lettering at the outer edge can become unreadable when the logo is shown as a small avatar.
- Check contrast. LinkedIn says a logo can appear on both light and dark backgrounds. Test the artwork against white and a dark neutral background before exporting.
- Choose PNG or JPEG. PNG is useful for crisp flat graphics and transparency; JPEG is suitable for a solid-background logo. LinkedIn’s Page specification lists these formats, not SVG, as the upload choices.
- Inspect dimensions and size. Confirm the file is exactly 400 × 400 pixels (or at least 268 × 268) and no larger than 3 MB. File extensions alone do not prove the internal dimensions.
- Export a final master. Keep an editable original separately so you can adjust contrast, margins or text without repeatedly recompressing the upload.
How to change a LinkedIn Page or Showcase Page logo
LinkedIn’s documented path for an administrator is:
- Open the Page’s admin view with a super admin account.
- Select Edit Page.
- Open Page info.
- Use the edit control on the current logo.
- Select the prepared PNG or JPEG and save the change.
LinkedIn states that a saved logo can be replaced but cannot be left empty. If you need a temporary substitute, upload another valid image rather than trying to remove the existing logo without replacement. The exact button styling can change as LinkedIn updates its admin interface, but the Page, Edit Page and Page info locations are the documented route.

Preview it at real display sizes
Do not judge a 400-pixel logo only at 100% zoom in an image editor. View the published Page on a desktop browser and a narrow mobile-width window. Check the avatar beside the Page name, in a post attribution and anywhere the logo is rendered as a small circular or square mark.
- Make sure the symbol remains identifiable when reduced.
- Look for clipped corners or lettering caused by tight artwork margins.
- Check that a transparent export does not lose light details against white.
- Compare the result in light and dark browser themes where available.
- Ask someone unfamiliar with the brand to identify the mark at small size; recognition problems usually indicate that the artwork, not the pixel dimensions, needs revision.
A transparent Page logo is displayed on a white background according to LinkedIn’s guidance. If your logo relies on a dark background to provide contrast, export a version with that background included or redesign the mark so it remains legible on white.
Do not confuse the logo with other LinkedIn images
Personal profile cover image
The recommended personal profile cover is 1584 × 396 pixels, a wide banner behind a member’s profile photo. It is not interchangeable with the square organization-logo upload. Using the banner dimensions for a Page logo would produce a mismatched aspect ratio and unnecessary cropping.
Page cover image
LinkedIn’s English Help specification lists 4200 × 700 pixels for Page cover art. Cover art is designed to span a wide header and can crop differently across screens. Keep important text and marks toward the center and away from the edges, particularly the lower-right area. This advice applies to the cover, not the 400 × 400 logo.

LinkedIn’s brand guidance says its own logo should not be enlarged beyond its native or maximum size and gives a minimum of 21 pixels in screen height, or 0.25 inches in print, measured by the “in” portion of the logo. Those rules govern use of LinkedIn’s trademark artwork. They do not replace the Page-upload specification for your company’s logo.

Verify the published result yourself
A browser check catches problems that an image editor cannot. Open your Page while logged out or in a private window, then inspect it at desktop and mobile widths. If the image is cached, refresh after saving the replacement. Capture the Page at both widths and compare the logo’s apparent sharpness, contrast and margins. This manual method is useful when you need to confirm what visitors actually see rather than what the upload dialog accepted.

“The file is too large”
Confirm the file is no more than 3 MB. Re-export at 400 × 400, strip metadata and optimize the image. Do not solve the error by reducing the artwork to an unnecessarily small canvas; retain at least LinkedIn’s 268 × 268 minimum.

The logo looks blurry
Start from a vector or high-resolution master and export once at 400 × 400. Enlarging a 268-pixel or smaller raster generally magnifies blur. Also inspect the original artwork for thin strokes that disappear when reduced.
The image is rejected or unavailable in the picker
Use a PNG or JPEG and verify that the file opens normally in another image viewer. Check the pixel dimensions and file size, then try a fresh export with a simple filename. LinkedIn’s Page specification names PNG and JPEG as the supported formats.

Transparent areas look wrong
LinkedIn displays a transparent Page logo on white. Add a background color that matches your identity or revise light elements so they have adequate contrast on white.
The logo seems cropped
Return to the square source and add internal padding around the artwork. A mark that reaches the canvas edge has no tolerance for responsive rendering or rounded presentation.

I cannot delete the old logo
LinkedIn says a saved logo cannot be left empty. Replace it with the new valid PNG or JPEG rather than attempting a blank state.
The screenshot shows a banner or sign-in page instead
Verify that you supplied the public Page URL, not an admin URL, and capture after the replacement has propagated. If a login is required, the capture will reflect the accessible page rather than an authenticated admin view.
